Just as Stacey would enter the arboretum the ship began to shutter slightly as if the whole ship or more accurately area of space was having a bad case of indigestion.

Demil stood up from where he had dived to the ground, straightening his uniform. “We were forced to beam it off the ship to preserve Ensign Hobbes’ life, sir. I take full responsibility and apologize for any negative impact this action might have. I will submit to any disciplinary action yourself, Lt. Belmont, or any other superior officer decides is necessary.” His tone had shifted from the frantic tone he had been using during the emergency to a crisp formal tone, far above even the strictest standards on addressing superior officers.

Ens. Lis, Science.

Katie lay flat on her back and blinked for a few moments. She took two deep breaths and finally scrambled to her feet. The arboretum looked normal enough though for just a moment she panicked when she saw one of the trees surface roots. Apparently the transporter crew had been able to send whatever it was to somewhere outside of the ship. Then she noticed Lis talking with Dr Stacey. Lis did not seem to be a happy camper at the moment.

“Is the ship safe?” she asked as she talked toward them. Three steps and suddenly Katie felt light headed and several of the trees began swirling around in almost exactly the way trees generally don’t. A moment later, Katie dropped to her knees and began to fall to her left side.

Just as Katie would collapse Stacey’s discussion and Lis’s guilt would be interrupted by the ship flashing back to red alert! The vibrations on the ship were growing worse by the second.....
