[snip]“This thing isn’t moving nearly as fast as the earlier ones were,” Katie shouted. She tapped her communicator. “Hobbes to transporter. Can you get a lock on the blob creature in the Arboretum?”
=/\= One moment. We are a bit busy here at the moment. Damn that thing has gotten big. Yes. We can lock on it.=/\=
“Can you transport it off the ship into space?” Katie shouted. The tendril moving along the floor continued to move toward Katie and she continued to back away. A heartbeat later she was flat on her back having tripped on something.
=/\= Ensign Katherine (Katie) Hobbes, Engineer
The transporter operator over the open comm seemed to be muttering to himself as he worked. Something about being a transporter chief not a miracle working engineer. Finally just before the toxin induced blob tendril would smack Katie the hum of transport worked its magic. There was a briefly flicker of it not working but then the chief did something and the massive toxin induced blob vanished from sight. =/\= Got it! Sent it out into space. =/\= He said.

Moments after the blob was transported into space, Doctor Stacey rushed into the Arboretum. “Where’s it at?!” Gavin asked, looking around frantically. He didn’t want to be caught off guard with a blob on the loose.
Dr. Stacey Medical
Just as Stacey would enter the arboretum the ship began to shutter slightly as if the whole ship or more accurately area of space was having a bad case of indigestion.

Demil stood up from where he had dived to the ground, straightening his uniform. “We were forced to beam it off the ship to preserve Ensign Hobbes’ life, sir. I take full responsibility and apologize for any negative impact this action might have. I will submit to any disciplinary action yourself, Lt. Belmont, or any other superior officer decides is necessary.” His tone had shifted from the frantic tone he had been using during the emergency to a crisp formal tone, far above even the strictest standards on addressing superior officers.
