An organic anomaly. . . Crap. Where was the computer core on this ship again? Oh! Fiddlesticks, she knew she should have taken a look at the Synthesis specs before headed over here. V’alura rejoined the other two, while handing her PaDD to Masi. Normally V’alura kept her thoughts shielded but for now she kept her mind open for Masi to telepathically read. The PaDD still displayed the data sent by the AA. With a smile, V’alura addressed Dambrine, “Captain, I know I said I’d like to swing by the science labs but I think I’d like to see the computer core first.”

”..Alright well we can do that then..” The Captain replied, “..Any reason for the change in location?” he inquired politely.

Masi accepted the PaDD and read it over. An organic anomaly… not her area of expertise, but it wasn’t good. She sensed V’alura’s mind had been opened a little. She decided to take the chance. Apologies Lieutenant. She thought to her colleague. Any informed opinions from here, or do you need to see it up close?

If the organic anomaly is even still there. She thought back. Her mind was fast and dynamic, capable of several trains of thoughts at once. It resembled the inside of a building composed of many rooms and connecting hallways. It’s still worth investigating. There may be evidence of its presence or something about their core that would allow an organic entity to reside there. s. Ideas, theories, goals and plans were simultaneously formed, sorted, and organized into various mental lists placed within mental images of PaDDs spread across a desk.

“My science team aboard the Ark Angel believes there may be a clue to these mysterious events in your computer core.” V’alura said, “I’d like to take a look for myself and see if we can’t learn something new.” Or maybe this will turn into a wild goose chase but they’ll never know until they try.

Kyle Anders knew an armory when he saw one, but this was… interesting to say the least. A range of weapons of varying origin were clipped to walls around the AA Away Team; waiting for the Synthesis’ CO and the Arkangel’s XO to finish, Anders quipped; “Are the crew trained to use all of these weapons?”

The Captain turned to Anders while the others seemed in thought to him, “..As usual all of my crew are trained in their basic use for our phase pistols, but those and our phase rifles are only used by the armory staff..” He replied to the chief of security.

“Would it not be more beneficial for the entire crew to know how to use the rifles? You never know when those skills may need to come in handy on a ship like this?” Kyle was trying not to dictate the job of the Synthesis’ CO, but he also knew strong security training would prove tactically sound.

All this talk of weapons training sent an unpleasant shiver down her spine. She detested violence and combat, and all the tools and weapons that came with it. At the Academy she barely scrapped through her combat courses. Oh, she could hold a weapon, knows the mechanics of aiming and firing but to actually shoot at someone? Even if it’s just a harmless stun? V’alura starts to shake like the legs of a newborn foal and unlike that foal she continues to stumble and shake.

”..We are first and foremost a vessel intended for exploration. My superiors did not feel it was needed for medical or scientific personnel to be trained on rifle use. Plus they are complicated to operate in large numbers and a maintenance chore. So no I don’t think it is needed..” the Captain replied.

Jordy goes to Lieutenant Anders ‘Sir do you have a task for me?’ Jordy asked as he stands there confident that he will do a good job on his first away mision.

Kyle chuckled to himself, Kleine continued to remind the young Yorkshireman of a excitable labrador puppy, “You’ll be the first to know lad.”

Jordy could of course begin with an examination of the Synthesis’s weapon and defense systems. It was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity for him to get a real life feel for a ship built in the 2160s just after the founding of the Federation. Considering how far technology had come from then till now in the late 24th century he probably would not get another chance like this, plus he could uncover some clue that might explain how a ship of that vintage was here in one piece, seemingly only months after its launch and without trouble that had drawn the Ark Angel here. Especially given no known temporal anomalies had been detected by either ship.

Jordy thinks about what he shall do, he thinks about doing an examination of the weapon and defense systems. Jordy looks at the Synthesis Captain ‘Can you tell me where the weapon and defense systems are?’

While the captain answered the En’s question, V’alura pulled out her tricorder for a quick scan of the room. Specifically, she was scanning for any traces of strange organic anomalies. Might as well and try. If En Stacey’s data was anything to go by then this thing either had a very short life or was on the move. . .
