About a week into his time on board the Arkangel, Lieutenant Kyle Anders had finally managed to book in an appointment with the Arkangel’s newest counsellor, Lieutenant Mykl Najjar. As Security Chief, Anders’ felt that he needed to know as much as he could about all members of this ship’s crew. He was interested to find out therefore, that the Counsellor came with an assistant. Known only as Pic, Anders found out that the two officers communicated using some adapted form of sign language, which Anders was interested to learn about. As much as the young Yorkshireman knew that this session would be about Najjar getting to know him, Kyle was also keen to initiate the reverse. Arriving on Deck 5 with five minutes to spare before the start of his appointment, Kyle checked his uniform in the reflection of the door and clicked the chime.

Standing by the replicator, Mykl heard the chime. “Come in.” She trained dark eyes on the door and wondered about the first impression her office would make on who visited. It was done in mostly red and gold with touches of turquoise here and there and contained a fair amount of Egyptian furnishings. If her father had gotten his way, she wouldn’t have been there at all, but would have been ensconced back at the palace. However, her mother had used her wiles to convince him that Star Fleet would be good for their daughter—after all, she was fifth in line for the throne so there was very little chance of that happening, why not allow her to lead a fulfilling life elsewhere?
