“Not yet,” Hayley replied, “We have mainly been focusing on tabulating our our available resources and figuring out what we can ration and what we can produce sustainably onboard. Lt. Fayth has done some amazing work in that direction. She can produce much of what we would otherwise have to synthesize in her arboretums. That means we don’t have to worry about running low on medications. The less we have to rely on our replicators the more we reserve power for other things if necessary. I will get a team together to start looking outward. Thank you for that reminder. Stress tends to make us focus inward, doesn’t it?”

”..It does, have you any concerns among your staff? I know Doctor Suder expressed some personal concerns with his current reduction in status.” She inquired.

“I am continually impressed by them actually. They are handling themselves admirably. My only concern is that they tend to overwork themselves. I have been making sure to remind them of the necessity for self-care. Dr. Suder is rightfully concerned. We’ve had some discussion about his situation and I think he is thinking through the input he’s gotten from everyone and trying to make some decisions. I may offer him some time off though I am not entirely sure he wants it right now. His work seems to be the only thing that takes his mind off his troubles.”
