Doesn’t being a club member by definition mean that the person is engaging in some kind of activity with other club members?

In simple roleplaying yes or in discussions in command or a cabinet department for sure it does. But what Louis and I are referring too are other activities, such as Khimtor or the like when they come up. Right now in case you weren’t aware for example a certain member who I shall not name since I couldn’t get their permission yet to name them personally is trying to gather members for a tabletop trek game. This among other similar ideas which may come up is what we refer to as engagement. Which Louis and I then hope will generate word of mouth (or text format exchanges) of non-members to join up or for current members to try out different roles in engaged discussions that may crop up. What I mean by that is for example my original efforts to become a GM started from two members encouraging me to apply for the gm exam at the time and then when I failed it by a small measure try again for a 2nd time.

Do you think this is this an expectation for a cabinet member in regards to mentorship or did you neglect to take the time to notice that was what was being discussed?

Looking back it was a missed line on my part, but if I understand what youre asking here yes Louis and I do expect and encourage directors and fcomms and CO’s etc to mentor their assistants down through to the JO level for those who show an interest. Not everything can be learned by reading the STF library or taking the exams being hands on mentored by those who know the role to a greater degree we feel truly is the best teacher.

Why, when I asked for you to be specific, would you answer like this?

As I have said in other posts, I answered to the best of my ability at the time and felt it answered what you asked, obviously this wasn’t the case in your view and whether I took 10 mins or a day to write a post my answers would be the same.

My apologies if I’m being overly critical with this or any other question. At my workplace I check over details within engineering documents searching for mistakes so I think my brain is kind of wired that way.

Its ok Adam thats who you are and this is just how I am and its our uniqueness in stf and who we choose to lead us that makes this club so much fun to be a part of.
