Questions for the Candidates- Rob and Louis
[snip]
Hello Rob and Louis,
Thank you for your questions Cale hopefully I can clear up things below!
Just a quick question to help me make sense of your recent campaign HQ posts.
In both posts you make reference to events and things that are actually already happening elsewhere or have been in work all term and are ready to be launched. Just as an example id like to point you to this post by the CMM that discusses some of these things IE FAQ and events etc
https://www.star-fleet.com/core/command/command/notes/24993/My question for you both is that your platform thus far would seem to make the role of the CMM (just recently clarified) redundant. Do you intend to get rid of this role or redefine its remit?
No we don’t plan to redefine or make it redundant rather we plan to build on what is already in the works and/or do the events mentioned more frequently where time permits the hope being that then we can generate word of mouth and interest that attracts members where upon some would stay long term with us.
Secondly in terms of member retention is repeating measures already in place or in process just in a slightly different way the best way forward when we haven’t seen how well the initial run will work?
Thanks
Cale
The idea is as mentioned that being more active in generating these events will draw interests to joining members, and in turn existing members would be more inclined to stay on board with us and in turn do events of their own in a form of a cycle of membership engagement.
I hope this answers your question Cale feel free to follow up with more if needed, thank you

Fixing a typo or two…
Thank you for your answer and trying to clarify Rob, I still don’t actually see how what you and Louis are planning is actually not already happening or how it is different, I look forward to more HQ posts clarifying this further.
Cale
We’re not actually changing what is already happening or in place, other then to try to broaden or increase the amount of events. We’re using those things started and just trying to do them more often. Though I admit the FAQ part linds mentioned I had missed she was working on. Either way the point is say someone wants to do a tabletop trek game we would work hard to see that through and provide what help we can to see it done and advertised.
Does that make more sense? I apologize I sometimes struggle getting my point from brain to post.
Robert Archer
No that does help thank you Rob.
Follow up question: Given how difficult it is to actually engage people in events long term and keep them engaged how do you both plan to ensure that your events will be sustainable?
Secondly How do you plan to measure the engagement itself or the impact it has?
Thanks
Cale
First some events may be only appropriate for one or two engagements, this then could lead to other events of a similar nature that people come up with. So partly they don’t need to sustain all the time, only that those who are engaged to it have fun and enjoy themselves. We feel that while some events will be popular others may not which is understandable. From this we would try to gain feedback on what was good, bad, or could be improved upon in some form from each event. The measurement and impact would be related to how much enjoyment, discussion, and the like would be generated after such events. Bonus points so to speak could be gained if such interest draws like minded new members or returning members to try out something new.
