Esteemed members,

I believe in this club. I believe it is run and occupied by smart, and talented writers who want to enjoy writing in a setting together. I also believe there are people out there who want what we have. But they don’t know we’re here to offer it. I believe there is a community here and want to build on it. I’ve known this community since I joined in 2017 and even better since I joined government for the first time as GM Department Archivist.

We will be running on a simple platform. “Learn, adapt, expand.” Our goals are simple and we believe we can achieve them by communicating with each other, our cabinet, and the member base at large.

“Learn, adapt, expand” is the motto for a larger program, but it is essentially how this works. Learn where the problems are, adapt to fix them, expand the club.

Our goals are these:
First, maintain balanced fleets of healthy ships.
Second, evaluate greeting and academy processes to lower the rate of attrition in new members
Third, draw in new membership
Fourth, expand the pool of GMs
Fifth, expand access to command by conducting open forums after monthly reports are submitted.

Other issues will arise, things I can’t speak to until they come up. But we will do our level best to be available and ready for when they do.

You may have noticed that I’ve used the word “we” several times. I believe that while the President may have final say, the advice and insight of the Vice-President and Cabinet should be considered an invaluable resource. If elected, we are a team.

A concern was recently raised that an elite of the same few people juggle power between them. I have never been President before. If you want someone new in that position, this is a chance. I am advised, however, by a Vice-Presidential candidate with a good deal of experience.

I think we all have a million things we would do, given the time and resources, to make this club a happier place with more people in it. For now I’m setting small goals that I believe can be achieved in the course of eight months, with support from a good Vice-President and Cabinet. More than anything, I want to re-open old lines of communication and set us up for future success as a community.

The President holds a broad authority, but Government works for the membership. If elected, I work for you and your interests. If elected, I’m not just sticking blindly to the plans laid out here, I am listening to you and what you want. That’s why, when monthly reports are posted in command, I want to hold an open discussion period. No prior experience required, no plans to attain a government position required, if you have an idea please bring it forward.

Hey all,

Running mate here. I could probably bore you with my credientials, but sufficed to say I have been around in this club for awhile....I started as a cadet in the academy, many moons ago (I graduated in October 2000, I’ll let you all do the math if you wish). I have been President, Vice President, FComm and I always seem to wind up back running the Academy throughout my time in the club as Academy Commandant.

I chose to run with Sage because I believe in the platform and I like her belief that the President should work for the club and in particular the willingness to listen. My main role as Vice President, if elected, will be to listen and to provide my advice based on my experience and contribute as best I can to help the club learn, adapt and expand.
