How do you define the state of the Club that we’re currently in one sentence and how would you address it/fix it?

Good morning AJ, thanks for your question.

For me summing up the current state of the club I would say it ‘Needs some TLC’ meaning it is far from perfect/smoothly running but with some work, community involvement and communication we can turn it around. (That’s one sentence right? Only got one period in there it counts!)

I and Matt want to work towards solving this by 1) Look at slimming down the cabinet to reduce the amount of core people needed to run these critical roles, this would be in part done by merging the EDept and GMDept into a ‘reference department’ 2) Performing an ‘audit’ of all fleets and ship/areas looking to address any issues present, this would also at the same time look into either reshuffling ships possibly if needed to keep our current 4 fleet size but reducing the work fcomm/afcomms need to do month to month OR eliminating a fleet and reshuffling those ships to the remaining three fleets thereby reducing the amount of people needed to fill these core roles in the cabinet but possibly putting more pressure on the three FComm/AFComms who remain 3) Working to establish brief document FAQs highlighting in more simple terms what core positions in the club do and what upcoming or old players can expect before applying 4) Work on community engagement, having more constructive feedback and discussions, and working to encourage compromise on issues raised with the core focus being of bettering STF as a whole. This would be done with continuing my monthly ‘Voice Of The Club’ events from this last term, bringing as much notice to different issues or discussions raised to get feedback and ideas, making the more ‘avoided’ spots in the club not be so avoided.

I know this last part maybe was not 1 sentence so I hope you’ll forgive me but I felt this was important, summing up a plan is not a 1 sentence easy task. I would also say that ‘solving’ all the club’s problems in 8 months is probably almost impossible if it ever can be truly done. There will always be problems in some form, the best we can do for STF is minimize the problems from spiraling out of control. To me doing this would take multiple terms by many people in the club.
