In your opinion what is the purpose of the fleet reports and of posting the fleet report in command.

Hey Cale, thanks for the question, sorry this got sidelined till today, but I was quite busy the past 2 1/2 or so days.

In general the fleet reports give the President a better view of each fleet’s health and ship health month to month. Ideally its used to highlight problems, to communicate and get a feel what up to three different view on the status of a ship, and then be able to compare it to what actually happened. I won’t lie there have been times in my fleet reports as a GM say where my feeling of a ship’s health and such is somewhat or majorly different in view then the CO/XO’s report. I try my best in such cases to be impartial and not drum up a ship more then it is. Having a CO/XO say the ship is ‘good’ or such when there was hardly any progress in the sim, awols/loas were evident etc in the past month always irks me. This applies too when I have been FComm or in this term President and get similar happenings. Obviously everyone has different views, but using FCOMM as a base guide should provide some consistency.

It also lets us highlight openings, give callouts to high performing players or GMs etc. As well as better coordinate other needs for each fleet or make adjustments, or have more 1-1 communications with ship teams and/or the fcomms. On how to improve, help or fix up stuff. All in all I think the fleet reports are quite important cog in STF’s operations.
