In your opinion what is the purpose of the fleet reports and of posting the fleet report in command.

Hi Cale! Thank you for the question. The purpose of fleet reports are to provide a monthly diagnosis on the health of each respective ship in their Fleet as a whole. It is pivotal for FComms, AFComms, COs, XOs, and GMs to provide these reports to celebrate wins, recognize high performing and quality writers, address issues that crop up (AWOLS, DH/XO/GM openings, and any further assistance required), to maintain consistency in reviewing ship needs, and to formulate plans going forward to improve the functionality of the ship. The posting in command ensures accountability for the FComm/AFComm/CO/XO/GMs posting monthly instead of just assuming that they are reviewing their ships on their own. Posting in command also allows for the public to be able to recognize fantastic authors on ships and provide writers with a snapshot of each ship to see if they may be interested in applying for a role or joining that ship. For COs/XOs, it can prove to help with recruitment as well, perhaps a writer may be interested in joining an additional ship as well, this is a good way to help find one that may be a great fit. In conclusion, fleet reports are a wonderful tool for communication between FComm /AFComm with their Fleet’s various command teams to ensure that the fleet remains in good health and spirits.
