Physical Appearance:

Fur: Her fur can be considered to be a middle length, colored solid white with a few accents of gold on her throat and the back of her ears. Closer to her nose there are a few reddish brown accents which fade into snowy white.

Eyes: Both eyes could be described to have purplish - red colored irises due to the lack of melanin produced by her body. The young Lieutenant has been mostly blind since birth due to ocular albinism.

Build: She can be described as a tall and well built individual. With a thin musculature beneath white furred skin. Surprisingly for the blind individual, Alba tends to remain in shape by using Jeffries Tubes as her own gymnasium.

Physical Description: She can be described as an adult female Canidin whose ancestry emerges from White Swiss Shepherds. Sporting a thick, medium length white coat with gold accents along her ear tips and throat. Her frame, while tall is also athletic corresponding to her breed. Well muscled all around and somewhat fluffy as her crewmates tend to joke around.

Hew paws on both hands and feet consist of four canine-like digits with reddish brown pads. While her claws are white with hints of red where blood vessels can be observed underneath. Two triangular ears stand tall atop her head, white on the outside and light pink skin on the inside. A sense which Alba has relied heavily upon since birth due to her lack of sight. Through the irises to both of her eyes, blood vessels can be seen interlocked with ocular tissue while the few melanin cells provide a blueish tint which provides the purple appearance when observing from afar. Blindness often comes in a spectrum, but for Lt. Waban is total lack of sight. Sometimes lights or shadows, but that’s about all she has seen from the world.

A thickly furred and slightly long tail provides counterbalance to her stance, with the tip slightly curving at the end. Along her back when visible, she has golden accents shaped like a bird’s spread wings over her shoulders and spine. Though the Engineer is almost always observed in uniform.

Personality:

Lt. JG Waban is the sort of engineer who can identify a malfunction simply by listening to the rhythm of an engine or feeling the slightest vibration through a console. Blind since birth, she navigates the world through sound, touch, airflow, and memory, treating every ship like a musical instrument with its own unique heartbeat. To her, every conduit hums at a specific pitch, every plasma relay vibrates differently, and every loose bolt has a distinct rattle.

Brilliant and intensely driven, Waban refuses to let anyone mistake her blindness for helplessness. She has little patience for pity or people who underestimate her, often responding with dry sarcasm and a cutting remark before proving them wrong anyway. She’s stubborn to a fault—once she decides there’s a solution, she’ll work until exhaustion to find it.

Alba is fiercely loyal to her crew, though she rarely expresses affection openly. Instead, she shows she cares by repairing someone’s equipment before they ask, staying up all night to keep life-support online, or quietly solving problems before anyone realizes they existed. She’ll risk herself without hesitation if it means protecting the people she considers family.

Under pressure, she becomes laser-focused. While others panic, she listens—to the engines, the ship’s structure, the voices around her—and pieces together information like a puzzle. She’s often the first person to notice that something “sounds wrong,” even when every diagnostic insists the system is functioning normally.

Emotionally, Alba hides vulnerability behind confidence, humor, and determination. She dislikes relying on others and sometimes pushes people away because she’d rather shoulder every burden herself than admit she’s overwhelmed. Her greatest flaw is believing she has to fix everything alone.
