Young Life

Born In New Orleans Louisiana to Patrick and Anne Wiseman (1/2 Vulcan, but chose to pursue a life-style filled with emotion) on April 26th Matt was a very strong and curious child, having an improved perception and strength compared to humans, being twice as strong as most of his peers, although understandably this was not quite at the level of full Vulcan Physiology. As a child, Matt always found it easier dealing with machines than with other people, due to his disabilities, but as he grew older he learned to cope with the stress of social interaction. Matt moved to Baton Rouge when he was 5, and when he was ten he went to his dad’s work (he was a leading Star-Fleet doctor who commuted to Starfleet HQ daily) and saw the Galaxy class Starship interior from the Holodeck there. Since then, he knew he wanted to be in Star-Fleet. When he turned the minimum age limit for Star-Fleet Academy he applied and made it his first try. Given his intelligence and affinity for machines, he fit right into Starfleet’s engineering ranks.

The Life of Matt

Gaining his Height from his dad’s side, and his strength and reflexes from his mother’s family, Matt has extreme athletic skill, and his co-ordination has helped out in his job as an Engineer. He was Diagnosed with Asperger’s with ADHD and Anxiety when he was 15. He always tries to use his “disabilities” as well as his skills and talents to try to bring out the best in others.

He has an ongoing love of Baseball, and he is GOOD. He played a lot in High School, and was the Team Captain of the Engineering School’s B-Ball team for two years before boarding the Discovery the first time. Matt has also always had an interest in music. In Middle School, Matt started playing Tenor Sax in Mdidle School and was/is really good at it. He still keeps his saxophone in his quarters, one that was gifted to him by his father, in near mint-condition: a 380 year old Custom EX, (rarely used since the first two generations of family owners passed it on, it nonetheless became a family tradition to pass it down from father to son) His favorite type of music is anything with a saxophone that sounds good in his opinion. Mostly Jazz, but some 80’s rock bands had good songs he liked to play.

Schooling

Matt went to a Catholic High School, though not Catholic himself, as it was a much better education and environment than the public ones. As a teen, he had rebelled against the idea of being a doctor and fell in love with tools and their use, so he did the typical 2 years of general studies, and 3 years of engineering (one year for Borg tech studies) He didn’t finish top of his class, but he did very well, his problem, though, was paper homework. He did well enough to get on a cadet training cruise, which is what he wanted. He specialized in Warp and Impulse propulsion systems, and Computer Engineering. He even packed in a year of personal study of the latest in tech, a lot of it on the mechanics and history of the adaptation of Borg tech into parts compatible with normal human and other known humanoid physiology.

Brain chemistry is consistent with a human with Asperger’s with ADHD and anxiety, with his overall nervous system having more speed and regenerative powers than a human, but less than a Vulcan. Takes regular medication for the ADHD and anxiety, and has mostly learned to live with the Aspergers.
