Elijah does not at first appear out of the ordinary and certainly wouldn’t stick out in a crowd, he is an average height of 5’ 9” and has a lean, athletic build with the first signs of rounded belly from living luxurious lifestyle and not needing to work for his next meal. His sand-brown hair is neatly cut and his hazel eyes reflect a blend of excitement and curiosity. His flair complexion shows signs of a few faint freckles, evidence of the time spent outdoors during field studies and stargazing. He dressed in standard Federation Civilian attire, a combination of functionality and personal style that reflects his desire for professionalism.

Personality

From his role as a academy mentor Elijah brings with him a wealth of field and practical knowledge and a contagious enthusiasm for scientific discovery. He has a warm smile and carries an approachable demeanour which allows him to quickly establish a friendly presence within any community. His Kindness and empathy extends to both his colleagues and the wider resiedents of OEDV, creating a collaborative and shared curiosity.

Despite his extensive and recognise experience Elijah hasn’t forgets how to remain humble, he knows the benefits of the willingness to listen and learn for others, and encourages a spirit of camaraderie, promoting a sense of unity among his colleagues and friends. His optimism and passion for exploration and the scientific community has a way of inspiring those that he surrounds himself with to embrace the mysterieries the universe and OEDV has to offer.

With his work he approaches it with a methodical precision, drawing on his anaylitical skills he developed during his time as an academy mentor. His recent experience of mentoring the young minds at the academy has helped him develop a deep appreciation for guiding the next generation of scientific exploders. As such he is eager to share his knowledge and expertise with the residence and Starfleet contingent on OEDV, fostering an enviroment for continuous learning.

In hi pursuit of scientific gain, he remains patient and persist driven by a genuine curiosity towards the unknown and a love for unravelling their mysterious much like an engineer tinkering with toys as a child by taking them apart and putting them together to see how they work. His transition from mentor to colony scientist reflects his continued commitment to hands-on exploration and a dire to contribute to the wider scientific community on OEDV and Starfleet as a whole. Elijah embodies the spirit of discovery that is guided by the original charter of the federation, he brings both his mentoring experience and passion for exploration to start his new chapter on OEDV.

Born on a Starfleet outpost Gamme 9, Elijah early childhood was influenced in the wonders of the cosmos. Growing up in a family of accomplished scientists—his mother, Dr. Evelyn Mercer, a respected university lecturer in xenobiology, and his father, Dr. Benjamin Mercer, a distinguished astrophysicist—Elijah developed a fascination for the unknown from an early age. His childhood wa spent of stargazing, and practical experiments guided by his family's passion for exploration.

Elijah's academic journey commenced at a Starfleet-sponsored school hosted on the planet Outpst Gamma 9, where his early interest in science and discovery began to flourish. Excelling in his studies, he continued his education at an Earth-based University, specializing in astrophysics and xenobiology. Under the guidance of his parents and distinguished professors, Elijah's academic prowess set the stage for a promising future in the scientific community.

Eager to expand his horizons, Elijah enrolled in Starfleet Academy. As a recruit, he thrived in a diverse and challenging environment, immersing himself in the rigorous training required for exploration and diplomacy. His natural leadership abilities and enthusiasm for scientific discovery caught the attention of his mentors, earning him a reputation as a promising recruit.

Upon graduation, Elijah received his first assignment aboard the USS Pegasus, a Galaxy-class starship. Serving as a science officer, he participated in various deep-space missions, researching newly discovered celestial phenomena. His time on the USS Pegasus exposed him to the realities of life in Starfleet and deepened his commitment to advancing scientific knowledge.

Elijah later accepted a position on the USS Horizon, an Intrepid-class starship. Serving as the chief science officer, he continued his quest for knowledge, conducting experiments and explorations in uncharted regions of space. His experiences on the USS Horizon reinforced his commitment to hands-on exploration and the collaborative spirit of Starfleet.

With two full ship services under his belt Elijah was offered a command track sponsor by the Horizons Captain and seconded by Vice Admiral Michaels the then Academy Commandant and a friend of the Captain. Accepting Elijah spent a year at the academy attending the command track modules he would have missed during his first time at the academy, luckily the Academy had specific training classes for late entry commanders. Graduating as a Commander Elijah was given his first command position as XO aboard the USS Endeavoure a deep space science ship where he seconded as a science officer.

After the endeavour Elijah went onto commanding USS Long Island attached to Lorcana Station under Commodore Reece. Elijah learned a lot about himself and his commanding nature, slightly unorthodox methods which made it a challenge at time but still allowed him to be an effective ships Captain. After his promotion to Captain Elijah was selected for instructional duties at the Academy.

Elijah felt the calling to guide and inspire the next generation of Starfleet officers a promising one. Transitioning to a mentorship role at Starfleet Academy, he dedicated years to nurturing the potential of young cadets. His mentorship extended beyond the classroom, instilling in his mentees not only scientific proficiency but also the values of teamwork, curiosity, and the sense of wonder that defines the spirit of exploration within Starfleet

Following his captaincy and academic stint, Elijah spent six months on a l science project with Klingons and Vulcans. Holding the diplomatic rank of Commodore at the request of the host nations the Klingons that a flag officer be appointed. This venture not only showcased his dual expertise in science and diplomacy but also fostered stronger bonds among the Federation, Klingons, and Vulcans. Elijah’s commitment to unity and exploration left a lasting impact on interstellar relations. During this 6 months he finished one of his published papers on Bridging the Gap Between Science and Diplomacy in Interstellar Relations”

With a wealth of experience and a desire to contribute to the scientific community in a more focused manner, Elijah decided to retire from active Starfleet duty. Choosing OED V as his new home, he embraced the role of a civilian scientist. Elijah now channels his expertise, contagious enthusiasm, and commitment to exploration into the vibrant scientific endeavours of OED V, and his duty to as a member of the federation science council where he continues to embody the spirit of discovery that has guided his entire career.
