He has a few scars on his hands from fights he did in his younger years to break his Plak-tow without going back to Vulcan.

Personality & Traits
General Overview: Unlike many other Vulcans, Saatynn doesn’t suppress his emotions, instead, embracing them. This is a delicate balance using techniques he’s learned over the years to help control his negative emotions to keep them from boiling over. He is not always successful, however, and, especially during Pon farr, can sometimes lose control which he expresses as vocal (and, rarely, physical) outbursts at anyone and anything that approaches him.

While he does not completely shun logic, he does not completely follow the teachings of Surak, instead only applying some of them, to incorporate logic into his thinking, but to much of a lesser degree than most Vulcans

Ambitions: Saatynn’s only real goals at this point in his life is to prove that a Vulcan can use both logic and emotion and not destroy anything. His other goal is to survive and return to Linna on Vulcan
Hobbies & Interests: If he’s not caught up listening to his father or mother talk about how he should go for Kolinahr training, Saatynn can be found either meditating or, on occasion, if he chooses to have fun, played Tridimensional Chess

Personal History
Born in 2373 to Strom and Aissa on Vulcan, Saatynn had a typical first few years of life. It was at the age of 4 that he began to question the detachment from his emotions.

While he’d force himself to remain stoic and protected in public, behind closed doors, Saatynn embraced the emotions his people fought to hide, and this made him almost an outcast from his peers at an early age.

At the age of 7, shortly after his true nature came out, his parents chose a neighbor’s daughter, Linna, a child who was predicted to be very logical as an adult, to be his mate. This was the first of many attempts to “cure” their son of his desire to embrace emotions.

By 10, Saatynn was truly an outcast, bullied by peers for his choice of lifestyle, but he would later let these experiences shape his philosophy that “no one should feel that alone”

When he was reaching the age of adulthood, his father expressed what many Vulcans felt of him: there was little chance of him being able to get a posting on Vulcan in any form. It was this that prompted him to leave Vulcan for Earth.

Service Record

Arriving on Earth sometime between 17 and 18, Saatynn worked for approximately 6 months in a bar located 13 miles from Starfleet academy. This would later be his “fall back” job should he fail out of Starfleet.

At the age of 18, Saatynn enrolled in Starfleet academy, passing the entrance exam easily, a “shocking achievement” to his Vulcan instructors do to his stance on emotions and logic. He would later go on to claim he studied very intensely, for it would be illogical for anyone to try and pass the exam without studying, or even taking a practice test.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Starfleet academy with a focus on Science, he was assigned to Earth Starbase, as a normal science officer, secretly this was an attempt by his superiors to “shield him” from the Vulcans in much of the fleet, who might look upon him with disdain.

However, after about 5 years of this, he requested a transfer, which was reluctantly approved.
