Jamie Wrona

Appearance:
Jamie Wrona has short, brown, naturally wavy hair which doesn’t move very much alongside matching dark brown eyes, both of which contribute to an overall unassuming appearance. He has a young, unlined face, with a fairly pointed jaw and round facial features. Jamie is always clean shaven, but probably couldn’t grow a beard, even if he wanted to. Standing at about 173 cm and weighing roughly 60 kg, Jamie has a somewhat slim, but generally average build, exacerbated by his field of work and uninterest in much else, though Jamie does possess some marks on his torso and upper arms following several attacks during his former posting. These are purely cosmetic, having been treated, though some of the marks appear as different colours when light is shone upon them as they were caused by hazardous chemicals, so Jamie prefers not to draw attention to them.

Personality:
Jamie doesn’t like to dwell too much on any one moment. He prides himself on his ability to continue moving in tough situations, but at the same time, very much wears his heart on his sleeve, which reveals a probably foolish naivete in the form of general hopefulness and a belief in silver linings. Ultimately, Jamie chooses to always view things through an optimistic lens, but sometimes, his skills come in handy for less optimistic things, and if that is the final difference between a brighter today and a brighter tomorrow, he will choose the brighter tomorrow, not because he can, but because he must - because he refuses to be the person who will rob that brighter tomorrow from someone else. In some ways, Jamie has a volatile personality, but will always follow the chain of command as a Starfleet officer.

Jamie genuinely likes working - he has a genuine love of chemistry and its applications in the real world, so he likes to keep multiple pet projects at any given time, which he works on when nothing else is immediately happening. He also likes to keep up-to-date on the latest developments in the chemical world, as he feels that staying interested in current science helps keep his brain ready for any surprises. Besides work-related interests, however, Jamie does enjoy pretty much everything to do with playing cards, and when available, he also likes to practice playing piano, though, he has no proper training.

Backstory:
Jamie enrolled in Starfleet Academy as soon as he was able to in order to follow in the footsteps of his deceased brother. Excelling in science, and in particular, physical chemistry, forensic sciences, and biochemistry, Jamie Wrona successfully graduated from Starfleet Academy and was stationed on the starship USS De Pere, completing a 3-year mission. For now, he is serving his second posting on the USS Wolverine, hoping to utilise his field-tested skills as a science officer and hopefully, see more faces of the galaxy.

Jamie also believes that his brother is still alive, somewhere out there, and he secretly hopes that one day, if he stays on a starship long enough, he just might stumble across the truth, whatever that may be. By succeeding in Starfleet, Jamie Wrona hopes to honour the memory of his brother and his parents, though with the years passing, this hope is starting to be replaced by his duties, which he deems extremely important.
