Joseph had downloaded a copy of the ship’s layout onto a PADD, which he peaked at as he walked down the corridors of the Endeavour. He had downloaded it earlier that morning, hoping it would help him learn to navigate the ship from memory. So far, it hadn’t been very helpful. The engineer had twice walked into the wrong room: once, while looking for his Chief Engineer; and again, stumbling into the cafeteria while looking for sickbay. Joseph’s directional skills seemed to have the same land-loving bias he did.

He tucked the PADD into his uniform pocket as he approached the counselor’s door, stopping for a minute to check the label on the wall. At this point, he wasn’t even sure he could trust the name placard to tell him the truth. Hoping for the best, he pressed the door chime and pulled his back straight into attention.
