“Coffee it is!” Liadra declared with a smile. She checked what he wanted in his (if anything) and then ordered that plus a cu of hot jestral tea she rather enjoyed.

Setting down the cup in front of him, she sat in one of the arm chairs and crossed a leg. “So, first impressions of the ship?” He seemed happy enough to chat and that boded well, but she’d see if it panned out in reality.

“Thank you” Tom said as the Counselor placed the cup in front of him. “I’m very excited to be on-board!” He said enthusiastically ” Though I’ve not seen much of the ship, only here, my Quarters and Sickbay. It all looks rather nice. It’s nice to be somewhere different. I’m quite looking forward to seeing what work awaits me in the Medical Department too.”

Do you have any expectations about what you might get to do?” Liadra asked. Every cadet had different experiences at the Academy and even before that, so their expectations of their training cruise varied wildly. She did love this part of her conversations with the cadets too. So far it had proven an enlightening experience and made her somewhat nostalgic for her own training days.

“Well…” Tom said as he paused and took a deep breath while he formulated his answer. “That’s the thing with the Medical Profession, there’s no telling what will happen next.” He said calmly. “So I try to live in the moment. It makes things much less complicated.” Tom lent forward and picked up his Coffee Cup and sat back again. “However, I do hope that I’m able to experience as much as I can during my time on board. I’ve no doubts that whatever happens, it’ll certainly be interesting”. He smiled and took a sip of his Coffee.

“Indeed!” Liadra said with a light laugh. For a moment she savoured the sensation of the hot tea as it slipped down her throat and warmed her from the inside. “I would say that embracing the chaos is a practical step to ensuring something of your sanity.”

“What do you think your biggest challenge will be?” the Denobulan asked cheerily.
