Looking again toward the screen, Sean had some cold sweat on his front. With a cleaning action he removed with a tissue the sweat and returned to focus on the case - for now the stuff were pretty complicated and no questions came in Sean’s head. I wonder what kind of alcohol and syntehol he used to drink

Cassandra continued to mutely watch the proceedings, pleased so far with the questions her staff were asking. Her XO seemed to have a good head for things, so she was content to merely sit back and absorb the details of the mission so that she could provide input when needed as CO of the ship.

OOC: As an aside, I’m mostly back from LOA, but I have one minor hiccup that may delay the next set of posts. If I miss a reply at any point this week, just repost and I’ll get it eventually. :)

Mason waited for the talk to slow before answering. “There has been a tendency - and here I highlight the word - a tendency for consumption to increase as tours continue. The long hours and the duration of the tours which are six months in duration have shown a recorded increase in consumption. That has been flagged as an expected outcome of the isolation. During orientations and before contracts are signed each employee is made aware of the pressures of this environment. Kramer, even as a sheriff deputy had the same pressures and logged within the parameters of an expected consumption rate.” He frowned and looked up from his case. “There are always rumors of bootleg consumables. Every once in a while a private still has been uncovered. The Sheriff’s logs indicate that they were breaking up a larger number of fights and he suspected a bootleg still was in operation. However, with Kramer, he was nearing the end of a tour. He had a month left. And no, workers are not locked in. If they are unable to continue their tour they are shipped out. The only thing they lose are their bonuses.”

“And what about the victim?” Paron asked. “Was he acting any differently from usual before the incident?” he asked Mason. They had focused on Kremer for some time, and he wanted to ask him some further questions, but felt it would be better heard coming from Kramer at this point. They had to look at the other side of things, to see if they could find out why this happened.
