Marlene let out a sigh. “I’m well,” She took a hefty swig of her bourbon. “Things have certainly calmed down since I arrived to find a corpse in my Sickbay as soon as I walked in the door.” She gave her shoulders a shrug, tossing her wavy brown hair back over her shoulder. She gave the interesting woman next to her a look over.

“Probably not the most ideal of boarding experiences. Was that one of your worst?” Liadra asked.

“I’m sure things on an Academy ship keep you quite busy,” She mused, finishing the last of the liquid in her glass and setting the empty glass down on the bar. She signaled to the bartender for a refill.

“Indeed,” the counsellor said with a laugh. “Between crew boarding evals and the continual work with those that have adjustment issues, or what not, I’m finding my down time less than my last assignment.”

Marlene smirked. “Have you looked at my file?” She asked curiously. The bartender returned with her drink and she took it and sipped it. “For boarding evaluations I guarantee I will give any one of these cadets a run for their money.” Her smile widened and she gave the Counselor a wink.

Liadra grinned. “I have read it, but to me it’s a just a file. I means nothing until I’ve met the actual person and I prefer to make my assessment that way. I mean, I could assume all sorts of things about you, but would any of them really be true? Or would I then just be looking for things to prove my hypotheses?” She leaned towards Marlene a bit. “Besides, I can already tell you’re way more interesting in person.”

Marlene smiled. “They all say that.” There was a sparkle in her eye as she gave the counselor a moments look-over. Then she raised her glass to her lips, giving the other woman a sly look. “It’s all true you know.” She chuckled softly and then took a swig of her drink.
