Skye listened to him speak and considered him. When he looked her from the feet up she smiled. “Something in your mind Mister Kingstone?” She asked kindly. She sipped her water and waited to see if he would ask her about her hair.

The cadet would cross his arms and with a decisive tone said: “I was just looking at your clothes Miss Skye. I always look people’s clothes.” smiling afterwards.
“I need to say” nodded “that they suits you pretty well.”
After consuming the whole glass of water, Kai laid down the empty crystal glass on the table and asked with cordiality: “And… yeah, what about your hair? It is unusual for a Starfleet Officer have dyed hair.”

Skye smiled at the compliment and considered her next reply. “It isn’t the most usual in terms of dress code no, but I learned a long time ago that sometimes you do need to be yourself and as ships counsellor there is a little leeway for how I dress fortunately.”

The explanation fulfilled the curiosity stream of the cadet, and though that she was right. Sometimes people needed to be… themselves in term to be someone. A lesson that he learned in the hard way.
He waited her to continue, as he noted that maybe she needed to talk.

She finished her water and set the glass down on the table beside Kai’s. “Well Cadet, unless there’s anything further you wish to discuss I’m happy to proclaim you fit for active duty,” she smiled again.

“There’s nothing, for now, to talk about.” Said happily Kai.
He would stand up and added “thanks again Mrs. Skye. Also, welcome aboard too.” Smiled. He leaned the hand for a hand shake and waited Mrs. Skye to shake his hand to conclude the check in session.

Skye shook his hand and smiled. “Thank you, I hope your first day of active duty is a fruitful one and the start of a long happy career.”
