In the transporter room, the cranky old transporter chief sat tapping his fingers with aggravation. He’d heard that there was supposed to be an away team forming, but here, several minutes later, no one had showed up yet. With a grumpy sigh, he tapped on his comm badge: =/\= Crankypants to Paron. The XO told me that you’d be leading an away team. Do you plan on getting down here any time soon? =/\=
On the bridge, Kanto spared a moment of concentration to reply, =^=Understood, lieutenant. I will relay the message.=^= The Vulcan commed the science lab.

=^=Kanto to Science Lab 1. Cadet Kingstone, please report to the transporter room to assist Lieutenant Paron on the away team. Bring the appropriate equipment.=^=

Kai was finishing the alignment of the Short Range Scanners when without any notice he heard Mr. Kanto requesting him to go to assist Lieutenant Paron. He was so excited to get his first assignment that dropped is PaDD on the console and replied immediately to his DH tapping his badge.
=^= Y-Yessir, I’ll report immediately to Mr. Paron.=^=
He was frenetically happy and with celerity he holstered a phaser to his waist and took a tricorder with him. After donning the necessary equipment he left the Lab greeting his colleagues.

Paron arrived in the transporter room and awaited the rest of the away team. Seeing the cranky transporter chief he nodded and stated simply “Would have helped if the XO told me she intended ME to lead the team - well, I’m here now - there should be some others on the way.”

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

OOC: Currently as we have no Engineers, someone should probably make an NE or NC for this one, unless we get an Engineer come in time :P.

For the cadets: As a crew of Starship usually has over 100 crew members, we never have that many actual players of course, so using NE’s is the way we can simulate that even when we have 8 or 9 player characters. They are typically minor temporary characters, that typically are only used for the duration of a particular scene, or less.

Buckingham was looking over a report with a nurse when Lieutenant Paron’s message came through.

Tom tapped the Communicator on his chest. =/\= Buckingham here. Understood. A triage team will be prepared and I’ll be attending shortly. =/\=

“Well then” Buckingham said, addressing the NE Nurse. “Have a triage team ready to go, I’ll give you more info as soon as I get it.” The Nurse busily began making preparations. Meanwhile Buckingham holstered a Phaser and Medical Tricorder around his waist, picked up a MedKit and made his way to the Transporter room.

Buckingham walked briskly though the ship and soon found himself passing through the threshold of the Transporter room.
“Chief, Lieutenant Paron” He said calmly as he nodded to them both by way of a greeting.

Thomas Buckingham - CMO

“Yeah yeah yeah,” Chief Crankypants responded as this excuse of a toddler of a department head made his way into his transporter room. Shortly after Paron’s arrival, NC UBreakItIFixIt stumbled in, looking as though he had just rolled out of bed. “Uhmm, the Chief Engineer asked me to report in for away team duty,” he stammered.

Lt. jg. Kanto, CSO

Kai entered the room adjusting his uniform neck and sleeves. Inside there were plenty of people: Mr. Paron, who was wearing a yellow uniform and his shiny pips, the Transporter Chief (a certain Mr. Crankypants), a nurse, Doc Buckingham and an engineer, who were equipped with phasers, tricorders, MedKits and multitools.
At a first look he would have said that the team was made by professional people. But he wasn’t sure if the engineer was sleepy or he always had a sleepy face. “Dang, we’re sure he’s okey?” He thought concerned.
“Cadet Kai, reporting for away team duty. Mr. Kanto sent me.” Referred to the Lieutenant.

Cadet Kai O. Kingstone - Scientist

Paron nodded to the away team. “Our mission is to rescue the crew of the golddigger, we don’t know exactly what we’ll find, so we’ll need to be prepared for anything. Cadet Kingstone, grab the pattern enhancers - we can at least then try and get the more serious cases to our sickbay more quickly. Nurse, we’ll need to triage and get them ready to transport. Cadet UBreakItIFixIt, we know the ship is damaged and there may be some issues trying to get around, that’s where you will come in. Any questions?” he asked before he took a spot on the transporter pad.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

OOC: Forgot to put the snip tag - my bad :P - even we officers sometimes forget :P
Ben

At the order of Mr. Paron, Kai rushed to grab the 3 enhancers that were laying onto the west wall of the room: they were solid cylindrical modules, tall 1 meter each, and having as support pedestal a trio of aluminium legs. On the top of the item, an antenna was mounted. Kai recognised all the pieces of that beautiful technology, beside it was the first time that he handled such devices. They were a bit heavy for him, but surely he could not protest.
“Sir, do we know for sure their exact number and specie of the evacuees?” Questioned while goofily getting on one of the free pads of the transporter.

OOC: It’s alright, sir! Also, what funny names you gave to the NEs.

Cadet Kai O. Kingstone - Scientist

Cadet UBreakItIFixIt waved his hyperspanner around in glee at the idea of getting to, uh, fix things.

Looking grumpy, Transporter Chief Crankypants eyed the energetic officers and scowled a bit. “Are you ready to beam over then?” he grumbled.

NC UBreakItIFixIt / Transporter Chief Crankypants

An excellent question, Cadet. I wasn’t on the bridge when they found that number, but it would be helpful if we can have that information. =/\=Lieutenant Paron to the bridge, do we know how many lifesigns are aboard the golddigger?=/\=

Lieutenant (J.G) Paron, CoS

The reply came back from the bridge .. =^= Four down there =^= came the reply.
Wookiee ..

OOC: I am trusting that y’all are in EVA suits for this . No life support on the vessels. And small note … if you call the bridge don’t forget to cross post that on the bridge <G> .. Gene

OOC: Forgot something, knew I forgot something :P
Ben

IC: “There we have it” Paron responded. “So if there are no further questions, let’s head over,” he said, pressing down to seal his EVA suits helmet, and once everyone was ready turned to NE Crankypants. “Energize” Paron told the transporter chief and waited to arrive at the away teams beaming location.
