<snip>“Help me through the portal. But the Drachin must be distracted. If they see they will follow.” Hyde struggled up on one elbow and with his other hand reached out to grip Ang’s upper arm at the tunic. He looked totally out of place in what was an 19th century suit and hat.

As he grabbed her arm, she braced herself for his weight. “If I get you on your feet, can you make it from this container to that one near the tear?” She motioned to the crate second to the closest to the anomaly he wanted to go thru. “If you can do that… I’ll figure out a distraction. Deal?” Her smile was soft and full of understanding. She knew this was not just their hello, but also their good bye. She thought his garb peculiar, but knowing that fashions certainly changed over the centuries, it didn’t all together surprise her.
“If your Captain can provide a distraction .. I’m afraid I may need help through. Your security should be here soon if I’m not mistaken on your protocols. Once we find their controls you return. I wish I could guarantee .. ” Hyde left that open as he came painfully to his feet and let Ang support him. He did wonder how that ‘age’ would take to one as unique as her. That is, if they were trapped.
As the smile lit her eyes, she winked at him. “And just so you know… I like your hat.” She half laughed hoping to alleviate a bit of the tension and perhaps distract him a little from his pain. As she watched him, her mind started to turn about ways to distract the entities over their heads.

CEHyde smiled. “I’m rather fond of it myself,” he replied.
As they were glancing toward the bay entrance they could see Security arriving. “There, the cavalry have arrived.”

OOC: Moving things ahead there with Security arriving from their office to lend a hand, er, phaser, er, big stick.
OOC: And giving things a bump ..As security arrived, Ang bit her lip. One of the ‘human’ traits her father hated in her. Realizing it and setting the offended lip free, she felt herself growl under her breath and the Klingon half of her kicked in. Glancing at the arriving security detail, she had to think fast. If she let Hyde go and went to explain things to the newly arrived, the situation in the bay could get worse. Shaking her head, she waved her hand to try and get their attention. If it worked, she would point to the two ‘forms’ and mouth the word “DISTRACTION” and then point at them. She hoped they would understand she wanted them to make a distraction.
Waiting to see that someone acknowledged her, she then left it to them and smiled back at the man she held the weight of. “No promises, no lies… right?” She winked and slowly moved them towards the breech. In all honesty, it never crossed her mind that she wouldn’t come back. She seemed to think from one crises, or action, to the next. Sure, the outcome was something one had to see to be proficient, but at this point her only list of priorities was 1) get this man thru the breech, 2) find the ‘controls’ he said he needed, 3) make sure breech was closed before the man in her arms feinted from his injuries. Wherever they were going, she wouldn’t know the technology, she was sure of that. But it just was sort of ‘assumed’ in her mind that somewhere between 2 and 3 she would make it back to this ship to see to the chaos left behind in the wake of the closing…
Guess time would tell.

CE“A distraction it is, then,” Johnson said, looking to see if the security team go the message.
Johnson rolled out from his the crate he was taking cover behind. Raising his voice, he said loudly, “I’ve warned you to leave my ship alone.” He fired his phaser in the direction of the aliens - taking care to avoid hitting his possessed crewman - and dived for another crate in the direction away from the console Hyde needed. Now he had to hope that security took the aliens’ attention away from Johnson to avoid Johnson’s impending doom…

The battling creatures separated abruptly as one landed some unseen blow. Lightning flew as the combatants were separated and one emitted a guttural cry of victory. It was only increased when the phaser strike struck the other. “Now … “ it said, though it sounded .. weary .. yet even so sent a swarm of lightning energy up to the ceiling that caused the ship to shake.
Meanwhile .. the two, Hyde and Ang, disappeared as they reached the area of the temporal tunnel.
“Where ..” the Drachin said, “No, they cannot ..”

Ang helped Hyde through the gate and bit her lip as his weight began to be felt. As the moment of disorientation passed, she glanced around to see where they had ended up. “Ok, where are we and where are we going?” She glanced around, shifted Hyde’s weight so they were both a bit more comfortable, and bit her lip once more. She fought the urge to look back thru the portal behind her they had come thru. She didn’t want to see the shimmer of whatever was transpiring back on the ship. All that mattered was saving it.

CECain made his way with the Cadet Polis from his office, getting into the shuttle bay they had rushed to trying their damndest to get there in time as he found a sight to behold. He wasn’t at all certain what was going on, this was certainly like none other he has expected.

Cadet Polis stepped through the doors and looked around the shuttlebay. It was only a brief look as a bolt of lightning shot towards him and the Chief. Polis dived at the Chief pushing both of them behind the standalone shuttlebay control console. The lightening past inches over their heads. Polis looked around the console at where the lightening came from and could see an alien lifeform. To the left of the room he saw a starfleet officer. It was the Captain. He was taking cover himself. Polis looked at the Chief hoping he had a plan.

OOC: mmmm bumpies ..

There was a sudden shower of sparks and energy as the allegedly defeated creature made a lunging attack on the other. They clashed. Lightning flew. “No, you fool!” came the words from the defender. Off balance or simply seeing the battle shift in location, the two Drachin battled closer to where security was and where the force field was.
They struck it; their bodies oozing sparks and bolts and the force field in turn exchanging energy. Suddenly there was a flash. The force field went down in a discharge of energy. For a moment it was quiet. Where the two Drachin were all could see misshapen balloons of faintly illumated energy - that shape coming from some residual charges and sparks.
Where the chrono tunnel was, in the darkness, a faint glow as well that might more resemble a spider’s nest.
