Barvan, after arriving on board the USS Endeavour, would proceed to head to the nearest task he has to do, namely getting a psych eval.He would show up at the CNS’ office and ring the chime.

“Come in!” a light voice said through the doors’s comm.
Inside, the small office wasn’t oppressively so, and there was a sitting area (a small sofa and a couple slim armchairs) tucked on one side across from the desk where another chair was opposite where she worked. On the wall above the sitting area was a moderate sized painting that was clearly abstract with washes of yellows, blues and greys. Beside her desk was a large leafy dark green plant with a single stalk of trumpet shaped flowers in a vivid violet.
Whatever one might expect of Counsellor, Liadra was typically thrilled to be both expected and entirely quite the opposite. The Denobulan woman had a curious shade of pale pink to her hair normally light brown hair, which was pulled over one shoulder and secured with an oval-shaped glossy black clip. Looking up at the door, her grey eyes held warmth as she smiled. “Well hello. Come on in and tell me who you are and what I can do for you,” she said, gesturing to the sitting area and encouraging him to pick a set.

:Hello Counselor!” the young Betazoid would say, on a rather chirpy tenor voice tone. He’d then take a seat.
“Hello,” she greeted warmly, her mind giving off an impression of being excitable and genuine in her actions.
“My name is Barvan. I am a Security officer here and a Cadet in rank. I need my psychological evaluation to be allowed to continue serving on board the ship.”

“Well then, we best get to it, now shouldn’t we?” she said, taking her own seat.
“So, Bavan, tell me a bit about you and how you came to join Starfleet Academy.” She didn’t always start with such a stereotypical opening, but in this case, Bravan was open in deamnour and so she was happy to see what he felt like sharing initially.
“Barvan, ma’am. As for your question, I joined the Starfleet Academy after I earned a scholarship in my mid-teens. See, I won a mind-reading competition at fifteen, outwitting Betazoids up to twice my age. Starfleet took notice and made sure I found my way into the Starfleet Academy. Given my love for physical activity and my proficiency with science, particularly forensic science, I was sorted into Security.

Liadra considered the cadet before her carefully. She herself was a pretty open book in terms of her emotions and she didn’t mind people knowing them. But she also knew how to keep things less conspicuous if needed. “I’m curious how you are dealing with the discomfort many species have with having their minds read. I do know that Betazoids have a great deal of respect for people’s privacy though. Is that the same with you, or do you feel all minds are yours to read if you wish?” Her tone was more curious than accusatory though and her expression and emotions certainly matched.

“I was taught from a very young age that if you want a non-mind-reader to appreciate your presence and not treat you as a potential nuisance, you should make very clear that you’re not reading their mind and not imply you are.”
Pause.
“I won a mind-reading competition on Betazed at 15 outwitting thirty year-olds. I’m in the top one-percentile of Betazoids when it comes to this. I chose the specialty of security officer so I can use this ability a lot without being seen as a potential threat.”
