Barvan

Barvan was born on Betazed 23 years before his assignment to the USS Manhattan. A scion of a prestigious noble house on Betazed, he was given great respect by his people due to his association with this aristocratic line.

Throughout most of his formative years, Barvan’s high level of affinity with telepathy was quickly noticed. He blew past most of his peers in telepathy class and won the All-Betazed Junior Telepathy Competition at age fifteen. This achievement landed him on the wait-list for the Starfleet Academy. However, his ability wasn’t without drawbacks. His proneness to psychotic behaviors and auditory hallucinations was largely blamed on his excessive affinity with telepathy.

During his time at the Starfleet Academy, he studied forensic sciences, with subjects including everything from xenoanthropology to applied telepathy. He had a unique affinity with interrogation studies, to the point the professor assigned to that topic wanted him as a teaching assistant.

During his time as a cadet, he served on the USS Endeavour under Captain Cassandra Rixan. He was noted for his good level of verbosity as well as his ability to meet deadlines.
