“How good is your investigation skills cadet? I had something come acrosss my desk we should look into, I am going to bring a team in but I wanted a chance to get some hands on work with you to see where your head is for this.” Cain said, wondering how good the new cadet was as he pondered their task that came across his desk.

Treyarch, CoS

Polis stepped forward smiling. “Well sir, I’ve dabled in a mystery or two on the holodeck. I may not be Sherlock Holmes but I am a fan of his stories. What is rhe mission?” Polis stood behind the chair opposite the CoS, ready, willing and eager.

“Well Cadet, I think…” Cain began to speak, but stopped as he began to hear the crackle and sizzle come from the console. Looking over Cain wondered for a moment why the noise was emanating, only to have his answer follow suddenly.

Suddenly a chain of energy spouted from the bank of consoles not far from Treyarch, arced up to the ceiling and crossed it like a silvery illuminated spider web and disappeared. Then the lights went out .. a smell of burnt electronics remaining ..

In the distance the red alert claxon could be heard; with the systems rather fried in the office there it was not sounding where they were.

Wookiee

“Look out.” Cain said as he dodged the sparks that came across them as well, not wanting to get in the way of the violent blast.

Cadet Polis ducked down as the energy swept across the ceiling and stood upright when it left. He stood looking at tge burt mark..... “What was that”, he said in near disbelief. The sounds of red alert claxon could be heard from outside the office and not within. Polis looked at the Chief of Security. Awaiting instructions..

=/\= Security to bridge, what was that? =/\= Cain said as he looked at Polis, nodding his head he wasn’t saying much but it was clear he expected the cadet to follow him as he stepped out of his office, looking through the corridor he surveyed to see if there was other damage.

Treyarch, CoS

Damage looked to be localized, as though what was happening passed by in one place and then totally missed or bypassed another.

Cadet Polis followed the CoS out of his office. The moment the doors opened he could hear clearly and loudly the sound of the Red Alert claxon repeating through the corridor. He could see several interface panels along the corridor burnt out just like in the office. An engineering ensign was sitting on the floor with his back to the wall. He was holding up his hands in front of him. They were black. Polis rushed over to help and was greated by the smell of burt flesh. =/\= Cadet Polis to sickbay. We need medical assistance outside the CoS office on Deck 4.=/\=
A voice acknowledged and reported that a medical unit was on the way. Polis placed his hand on the engineers shoulder and reassured him, “Help is coming. Will you be ok till they get here?” The engineer nodded and Polis looked back to the CoS. “Where to Sir?” He asked.

Cadet Polis, Security

The engineer slumped with his back to the bulkhead, his hands out in a way that almost looked like he was praying, though he was only keeping them free from touching anything. Crew moved with purpose past them following the red alert’s call to stations.

OOC: Good initiative on that. As a note, some GM’s can be closed to added improvisation - what your chief did was a typical reply of ‘looking to see’ and the GM would fill in what things are. Generating a NE is good. One note I might say is to not reply for medical, but send out the call and let them reply. Don’t steal their thunder if you don’t have to … Gene

“Let’s find out where we are needed cadet.” Cain said as he hit his combadge, they could head to the bridge but they maybe needed else where. =/\=Bridge this is Chief Treyarch, looking for an sit rep =/\= Cain said as he found a nearby console to bring up a read out.

Treyarch, CoS

Polis stayed close, studying the console over the Chief’s shoulder. An overview of the ship was displayed with several sections showing in red. With any luck together they would be able to see a pattern or even detect where the problem began. “Thats alot of damage Sir. Do you think we were attacked?”

Cadet Polis, Security

OOC: Pasting in the XO’s reply ..
IC:

=^=We’re presently trying to neutralize the chronitons in the shuttle bay, they’re what’s causing ship wide power fluctuations, I recommend heading down to the shuttle bay Chief, we may need your help getting our people extracted from there so we can neutralize the beings that are currently threatening to tear this ship apart.=^= Keena replied.

~Keena Vahl~

“You heard the man Cadet, follow me and lets get down to the Shuttle Bay. Keep alert and watch out for crew in need, we will assist where we can on our way to the shuttle.”
