Sharah was finishing up her latest double shift. The only positive thing, other than making her so tired she hadn’t needed to use the alpha inducer (okay so 2 things), was she was able to get a lot of her research done. She was leaning against a biobed in sickbay looking over her PaDD. NOTHING had happened all night. The other staff were contemplating playing hide-n-seek with the equipment just to have to put it back where it belonged. Sharah shook her head and looked back at her PaDD.

The research was done, and in the lab she could make the medications and they worked. She had even created a better holoprogram to test it. The problem was her “how-to” manual she was writing was missing details. When she got into the program she realized that she could find water and the plants, but had no container for them. She tried making it out of clay, but without a fire to harden it, the patient ended up too sick and too injured for her information to be of any good. Even though she had wanted away team certification she wasn’t familiar with what other departments took with them as standard issue. She had been trained for the medkit, and if she was there with a medkit they wouldn’t need her program. She groaned loudly, startling a few nurses. A veteran nurse smiled seeing her staring at her PaDD, “Don’t worry Cadet, you’ll figure it out.” She patted Fayth on the back and went back to her work.

What I need is an expert opinion. Probably security personnel. Away teams always have security. It’s the one commonality no matter what the purpose. Fayth thought about asking another cadet for help, but security as a whole still didn’t know what to make of her, and in order to work on an outside project that person would need permission anyway. That meant contacting the COS. Fayth suppressed a half smile. She needed to make sure her research methods weren’t compromised, so she would have to make a formal request, and make sure to document any information she gained.

She went over to the on-duty doctor’s station and typed up a memo:
To: COS, LT jg Rainns
From: Cadet Fayth, Doctor
Subject: Security Expertise Requested
I am working on a project to provide away teams with additional medical aid. The goal is to provide a means of accessing medication when away teams are without medical personnel present. My research has led to the conclusion that I need the expertise of a member of security to determine if the methods are viable. I would like to request your assistance or a member of your staff in order to make a determination.
