Aili’s eyes followed the cadet as the moved over to speak to Rainns. Oh. He didn’t seem too fond of her before. I hope he’s not stand-offish. Poor woman.

Cadet McMorran - Science

Rainns once again looked up from his chess game on his padd and noticed Trenton coming toward him. His internal defenses went up and the young man sat up. After the Cadet made her request Rainns smiled and nodded, “Of course you can.”

Cadet Trenton nodded sharply and held up her PaDD, of which she had several in hand. “I’m currently assigned to the third shift with Cadet Ryan, when would work best for you so that I may plan ahead or trade a shift with someone should I need to?”

“Sounds like we can meet tomorrow morning 0700 hours in that case,” Rainns replied, “I’m not working first shift.” He was mildly curious as to why the Cadet wished to meet with him, and truth be told, he had some things he felt needed to be said, so maybe the meeting would be helpful for both parties.

“Excellent.” The cadet made the notation on her PaDD to remind her of the appointment, “I’ll see you right after turn in at the end of shift tonight. On that note, I’m going to report to medical and call it a night. Enjoy your lunch sir.” Ashlyn turns and starts to head out.

Rainns nodded at her as she left and resumed his chess game, looking at the time stamp he realized he was nearly late for his shift, “Dang it,” he muttered to himself and he hastily sat up and headed for the mess hall exit himself.

Aili smiled in the direction of Rainns as he stood and made to leave before returning to her attention to the view of the stars and the last of her soup.
