Sharah tried to smile, but it looked rather self-recriminating. “You know maybe you could look at how strategy games, or even a who-done-it hollow novels help improve security officers tacticle planning or investigative techniques. Combine the two things your passionate about.” She heard him contemplate the hugging her and she simply stepped into the hug, whether he was prepared for it or not.

“You know, thats not a bad idea I actua-” Rainns was cut off by Sharah’ embrace. He accepted it and returned the hug. ‘Everything is alright’ he thought towards her, ‘I’m ok, you are ok, everything’s ok don’t feel the way you do.’ By communicating with his thoughts he was showing Sharah he wasn’t afraid to use that channel of dialogue, and wanted her to feel comfortable using it too.

Sharah leaned her forehead against his chest and began to laugh. “Really? I get it, you are fascinated by telepathy. Just give me…a couple hours. I scared myself more than you apparently. You have more stubbornness, valor, and bravery than may be good for you. Good thing I’m a doctor.” She stepped back just a bit to look up at him. Did he still feel as attracted as he had earlier, she knew she did. “Did I totally ruin the evening? I’m not much good at social interaction.” Had she invaded his space unwelcomed?

Joseph smiled, ” I’m not sure I have all those qualities, but I like to think I got a little bit of everything.” As sharah stepped back he looked down at her, “No, you did not ruin anything, I loved being able to have a telepathic link with you. Most people spend years trying to get a little hint of what is in another person’s soul, but you have a direct window to yours, and I enjoyed every moment of being able to look through it and see into your soul, even if it does give me a momentary headache. And don’t worry about social abilities, you are talking to the biggest introvert on the ship.”

“Biggest introvert on the ship? That, Joseph Rainns, sounds like a challenge.” She looked around. “I’m not sure how long we’ve been down here. When is your next shift? Should we go somewhere else or say good night?” Sharah wasn’t sure how much sleep he needed, but she was pretty used to being sleep deprived.
Cadet Fayth, Doctor

Joseph smirked, “It’s not a challenge you can win.” He looked around for a second, “We’ve only been here for about half an hour, so I’ve still got an hour before I need to return to quarters to get some shut eye, so we can still do something for a bit.” Truth be told Joseph wished they had more than an hour, but real life was pain in the rear sometimes and this was one of those times.

A mischevious grin crossed her face at his obvious challenge. “An hour? You pick, I picked this place, so your turn.” It was a shame he had no idea what was going to happen after that hour. ‘Most introverted, indeed. Pshh.’

Cadet Fayth, Doctor

Rainns looked inquiringly at Sharah, “Whats with the grin?” Joseph felt something was amiss, but couldn’t put his finger on it. He pondered for a quick moment and responded, “I haven’t been to Nine Forward yet, have you?”

“I don’t back down from a challenge, and you have most certainly issued a challenge. ” She grinned again. She may regret her idea later, but it might be fun. “No I haven’t been to 9-forward yet. Shall we?” She stopped a moment, and looked up at him apprehensivly. “Do you think it’s crowded now?”
