=/\= Lieutenant Torrirs this is the Captain. We have a medical situation with the away team. Some kind of Contaminant has infected members and we need to set up for biohazard and quarantine. Inform me when you are ready to receive the Away Team.=/\=
Captain Rhodes, CO

Torrirs pulled their head back from the microscope, flicking off its light when the comm met their ears. Brushing off their uniform, they rose their hand to the badge fastened to their chest, =^=Torrirs here, Captain; quarantine will be set up shortly.=^=

They gestured to an unoccupied cadet, “Mister Reeves, do you mind disposing of this slide? I have already recorded the results from my observations and the system’s analysis.” They informed him, assuming he would also handle the necessary cleaning procedures following the disposal of the culture. They trusted he was capable. Without waiting for a reply, they clapped his shoulder. “Thank you, Cadet.”

Leaving the Cadet alone to his devices, they slipped from the laboratory and made their way back the main sickbay. “Okay, people! We have a possible level three biohazard coming in! Let’s clear the sickbay! Anyone who isn’t in dire need of attention, send them out!” They started barking orders, time was never their friend. “I need an isolation bay set up. When these people arrive, you are not to touch them without protective gear, am I clear?”

Making her way to the computer array, they made certain the vents leading out of the sickbay were cut off to inhibit a possible airborne virus. It was risky to use the sickbay as the isolation ward, but they were best equipped to treat an unknown contaminant here rather than in another environment, which wasn’t as safe for the patients… and the staff. Especially without knowing how they contracted this contaminant.

The quiet of the sickbay quickly turned to bustle as doctors and nurses rushed to prepare the sickbay for the incoming infected. Patients were encouraged out of the sickbay, those in need of further aid sent with a capable medical officer and a medkit. Within minutes the sickbay had been cleared and prepped for the unknowns their situation might present them with.

=^=Torrirs to Captain Rhodes, we are prepared to receive the away team in the sickbay.=^= They pulled gloves over their hands, ensuring their staff took extra precautions to avoid spreading whatever illness may have been caused by this contaminant.

Dr. Torrirs, CMO

A few minutes later the crew of the away team was beamed straight into the sickbay contamination lab. Two looked like they would need treatment fast, the Medical NE whose life signs were weak would need to be the priority and the security ensign with a fever would need to be seen to soon. Tricorder readings showed everyone else in more or less good condition.

“NC Blake, NC T’Rai; find a nurse an assist them,” They gestured to the security officer, “Everyone else tend to any wounds the rest of the away team is exhibiting.” They ordered. Instructions given, Torrirs made their way to the medical NE, a frown briefly tugging at the corners of their lips. Picking up a tricorder, they ran a quick scan over the NE’s body, searching for any indication of what this contaminant was capable of.

Lillian materialized in the transporter room then the sickbay. she moved to the main door and took up a guard stance.

Catt materialized sitting on the floor as she had been when the transporter had grabbed them on the Potterfield. Getting her legs under her she got as out of the way as possible. She was deeply disturbed to see Osten still had the phaser rifle. She retreated from the rest of the team and the medical personnel as far as the containment field allowed, her eyes and ears locked on Osten. While her tail zipped wildly about . It was just as well the XO had taken her phaser as she was convinced Osten was still a danger. And she had no doubt he’d kill her given any excuse.

Max sighed with relief. It was good to be back on the Challenger, even though their situation really hadn’t improved.

=^= Captain, we’re back. Though the chief wasn’t able to get a lock on Cadet Locke, nor any of the other life signs detected. I don’t recommend sending a second team at this point, but if you do, I’d recommend full EVA suits. Who knows what is on that ship. =^=

“Hope you can help him Doc,” Max said moving over towards the medical NE. “He was stuck with something before he collapsed, and I managed to grab it as a sample before we pulled out.”

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

“We will do everything in our power,” They assured him, glancing down at their scans to see if anything could be told of them.

“Do you have that sample on you, Commander?” Torrirs turned their attention from the medical cadet to Harkness. “If not, have you got science analysing that organism–or whatever it is? Unless scans come back with a poison we’ve encountered before, that’s going to be our chance at creating an antidote.” If it was a poison at all.

Obiah wasn’t positive what to call it at this point, nor did they know if it was biological or synthetic. Until they had further information on what was happening in the NE’s body, they couldn’t be sure.

Dr. Torrirs

Wiles stood only a foot or so from Lieutenant Tavium as he rematerialized on the Challenger. His phaser rifle was still clutched in both hands, his knuckles white. He clenched his jaw as he tried to keep his teeth from clattering.

Although Wiles had acted aggressively toward Catt and caused her real physical damage, anyone who might read his body language would see that he was extremely tense, and likely for the reason that he was mentally holding himself back from the brink of an even more drastic outburst. There was turmoil raging in the mind of this normally pacifistic and good-natured man, as he coped with whatever motivated him to act so violently as best he could without inflicting further damage to his crewmates.

Tavium’s attention seemed to be a centering point for the fledgling officer. He looked into her eyes with dilated pupils, his vision unfocused and foggy. He spoke through grinding teeth. “I can’t. give up. my weapon. What if. others. are. infected?”

“We shouldn’t be here.” His legs started to buckle from under him.

(Wiles Osten, Security Cadet)

Lillian watch as Osten and CoS. Lillian still had her weapon and if necessary she would stop the others from leaving this room to protect the ship.

Tavium was surprisingly quick when the Cadet’s legs buckled. Her arm reached out and wrapped about his upper torso, her feet widened to stabilize them both. If he didn’t push her away, she would slowly guide him to sit on the floor. Her concern was preventing any damage caused by falling.

“Breath Osten, in and out. Close your eyes and shut out all the sources of anxiety until you’re able to regain your composure,” Nijix coaxed in a gentle, but firm voice. Her eyes studied his behavior while her symbiote flooded her mind with medical and security training, both working together.

“I’ll keep an eye on everyone else. No one is going to hurt anyone while I’m right here,” She added in hopes it might make him relax.

-Lt. Nijix Tavium, CoS

Lillian was still watching as the CoS help Osten fall to the floor. She continue watching the Medical staff working around her and the other Away team members.
Guarding a door was like default position for a security cadet so she continued to do until someone told her otherwise.
