To his surprise, instead of someone telling him to come in, the door just slid open. He assumed that it meant that he could come in, so he just strolled in. He was in awe of what he saw. It did not seem like a typical office for a Star Fleet officer. He figured it was probably for the comfort of his patients. There were even actual books, and he noticed that some of them were not in the Star Fleet standard. Either the person who uses this office knows many languages or these were there for his patients. Either one would make sense.

After taking a quick look around, he approached the desk. He stopped a few inches in front of the desk and regarded the person sitting behind the desk. He was a plain human man, so he was not much to look at.

“Hello, cadet. May I help you?” he said startling him. It was then that he noticed the lieutenant commander pips on his uniform. He immediately snapped to attention.

“Yes sir, ” he replied. ” I have come for my on board psychological evaluation, sir. “

OCC:Thanks. It’s good to be here.

OOC: Hello! Ok, I need some help from you here, and maybe we can work together to make sure you are good to go with navigating the threads (Trust me, I know it can be a pain in the beginning! lol) So with that, I have a few questions / comments.

Is this a response to a previous thread? If so, we need to move back to the original thread. I can help with that if you need some assistance. I’ll look and see if I can find the original, and if I do I will move your response over to it. We do that so the board doesn’t get cluttered and things flow more smoothly from post to post. If I find an original post, I will respond IC there.

Be careful when you are interacting with other player’s characters. We do not allow for one player to write for another player’s character. So in this post when you wrote what the Counselor said, that is frowned upon in the Main Fleet. Here, it is a good learning opportunity! Even if the other player you are writing with did say what you wrote, it’s best to just write for your character and leave the actions of others to their writer.

If you are on Discord, you can reach out to me there with any questions or if you want to discuss. YOu can also email me directly through the site. Just click on my name (James Sinclair) and that will take you to a screen where it will let you contact me.

Don’t stress or worry about any problems you may encounter. We have all had them, and we are happy to help. This is a fun place, it just takes some getting used to. lol

OOC: Ah, now I see. The original thread got cut off. I will pull the rest and post and reply below. No worries!

After leaving sickbay, he decided to head to the Counselor’s office get his psychological evaluation out of the way. He hoped that the Counselor was a pleasant person because he was still a little nervous. After all, a Counselor is technically just another doctor but for the mind. His mind was put a little at ease though by the fact that this was for his own good. They were just trying to make sure that he could handle the stresses of working on a ship especially if you are an engineer, which is probably the most stressful job on a starship besides being a captain. I mean if you screw up, then everyone dies. So arriving at the Counselor’s door he took a deep breath and pressed the call button on the side.

There was no sound from the inside, but the door slid open and revealed a space unlike any other on the ship.

The office was lit in a more subdued manner than the rest of the ship, with the light coming from wall lamps rather than the typical overhead lighting. Multiple bookcases with glass enclosed shelves lined one wall, filled with copies and originals of many texts on many different subjects, and a quick glance would show multiple languages as well. The desk was set at an angle against the opposite wall to the door in the corner, allowing for a large open space in the middle. Here there was a couch and a few chairs, one of which sat in front of and facing away from the desk. Pictures hung on the walls, some were even old photographs. Each depicted either places, individuals, or groups of people, and many were in black and white.

Seated at the desk was a plain looking human male with brown hair and brown eyes. He average looking; the kind of person that would be lost in a crowd of more than four or five people. He wore the blue uniform of the Science and Medical Sections, and Lieutenant Commander pips showed on his collar. There was one distinguishing feature about the man, however. Actual glasses were perched on his nose. He looked up, and a very odd accent issued forth, as if multiple accents were vying for control. “Hello, Cadet. May I help you?”

Korczak looked at the Cadet and said in a very peculiarly accented voice “At ease, Cadet. Do relax, please. I expect little in the way of excessive formality in here. Please take a seat or, if you like, help yourself to the replicator if you care for something to drink. I will just be a moment.” and he tapped a few commands into the interface in his desk and began reviewing Locke’s file. His voice was odd. It was as if two separate and quite different accents were vying for control. His speech was clear, though; easy to understand. It just sounded… a bit strange.

He decided that before sitting, he would take the counselor’s offer for a drink. He walked over to the replicator and said, “Computer, Root Beer, cold.” A moment later and bottle of Root Beer materialized in the replicator. He happily took it and walked over to the chair and sat down. He quietly drank it while patiently and respectfully waiting for the counselor to start the evaluation.
