He then scuttered off to do his inspections once he made his proclamation, keeping an open comm-link as he headed towards the 1st nacelle he planned on working on. As he approached the tube, he lifted off the access hatch and let the rush of energy practically light up his skin with tinglings. Upon noticing the plasma flow wasn’t as uniform as it should have, he tapped on his comm-badge, patching himself into main engineering. “Requesting permission to shut off plasma flow to nacelle A. Need to inspect fully, seeing some fluxuations in the flow. Could prove dangerous, need to fix.” He spoke, his voice slightly wavering as he stared into the hypnotizing glow of the plasma. Never before had he seen something quite so beautiful. He’d certainly read about plasma, and was fully aware of the dangers, but he’d never seen actual plasma. Sure, he’d engaged in simulations at the academy, but nothing was quite like the real thing. He however maintained a safe distance, as the last thing he wanted was to BECOME part of the plasma flow.

Though… There was something quite romantic about… No! Keep it together, Boris! Don’t even think about touching it!

While Boris was off running the diagnostics Ember, ran a quick triage on if they could get a phaser blast or two or running a deflector pulse large enough to break the tractor beam on the ship. “..Hopefully one of these would be viable..” She thought to herself.

She ran a few quick simulations, phasers were currently offline, as we’re shields the main deflector was ok but not receiving a lot of power. It might be possible to rerout some power but it was unclear if it would cause power overloads

Ember looked at the results. Most were what she expected. The deflector not receiving a lot of power was also expected. But then an idea formed that shouldn’t require a lot of power to begin with. Running another quick simulation she checked about reversing the polarity of the ship’s external hull even with minimum power to the deflector dish and systems a polarity shift should weaken or detach the tractor beam and locking mechanisms. Biting her lip she awaited the results.

Just as the results were coming around and suggested that there may be enough power to break loose, the ship lurched and the sound for something attaching to the hull sounded all around the ship. A quick scan showed that they were now soft docked with the alien ship decks 1-5 were now inside the alien ship.
