With their help and renewed vigor from knowing he wasn’t alone, the two managed to lock systems to engineering, ensuring any potential boarders wouldn’t be able to access engineering from the outside. Once his work was finished, he reported back with Ruby, briefly flashing his Hypospray before putting it in a compartment inside his precious Ushanka. “Sir! Systems locked down. Found cadet unconscious, applied stimulant. Made sure to bring when coming, emergencies require preparation!” He spoke, standing once more at attention. Taking a deep breath, he sighed. “What is next? Suggest we check plasma conduits and EPS network. Might be having overload, perhaps.”

”..Agreed Cadet Boris. Take NC Lee and Burns the three of you run the checks and see whats the cause, get it sorted if you can ASAP…” Ruby said about to say more when the comms from the bridge came through.

Ruby went over to a diagnostic’s panel, =/\= Embers here Captain. We just finished locking down engineering. Still sorting the EPS overloads as well which until we’ve tracked those down and ran bypasses is preventing troubleshooting most other power related issues. However, with the engines still offline I doubt the RCS thrusters got the power to break us free. I might be able to try to get us a phaser burst or two from the emergency batteries if you wanted to take a shot. Or maybe a deflector pulse to try to disrupt the tractor beam. But it could also cause more harm then good at this point…=/\= She said while running checks quickly to confirm her options given.

Lt Ruby Embers - CE

Naturally, the Cadet was about to go off and do as his commanding officer told him, when communication came from the bridge. He stayed silent, but eventually piped up with an idea. “Not suppose we have energy to energize hull to loosen object latched on? Might even temporarily loosen hold of tractor beam.” He spoke, his brow furrowed in thought. He gestured to the two other cadets to start investigations without him as he briefly ran through calculations in his mind. Eventually, he decided that he didn’t want to get in the way and cleared his throat. “Will check out nacelles while other cadets check out other power systems. If they having problems, would explain much!”

He then scuttered off to do his inspections once he made his proclamation, keeping an open comm-link as he headed towards the 1st nacelle he planned on working on. As he approached the tube, he lifted off the access hatch and let the rush of energy practically light up his skin with tinglings. Upon noticing the plasma flow wasn’t as uniform as it should have, he tapped on his comm-badge, patching himself into main engineering. “Requesting permission to shut off plasma flow to nacelle A. Need to inspect fully, seeing some fluxuations in the flow. Could prove dangerous, need to fix.” He spoke, his voice slightly wavering as he stared into the hypnotizing glow of the plasma. Never before had he seen something quite so beautiful. He’d certainly read about plasma, and was fully aware of the dangers, but he’d never seen actual plasma. Sure, he’d engaged in simulations at the academy, but nothing was quite like the real thing. He however maintained a safe distance, as the last thing he wanted was to BECOME part of the plasma flow.

Though… There was something quite romantic about… No! Keep it together, Boris! Don’t even think about touching it!

(OOC: I’m not entirely sure on the proper layout of the ship. I did a bit of reading out, but I’m unsure so I’m just kinda winging things as I go on. All my knowledge of engineering is TNG and Picard based, and Picard doesn’t really go into the whole ‘engineering’ thing, ha ha… Do let me know if anything is wrong.)
