He had studied the ship’s layout and was confident as he stepped off the turbolift he would have no trouble locating the office. Griffth found the office easily and gave his uniform a final once over before pressing the chime. After he pressed the chime, he folded his arms behind his back and waited patiently for his DH to answer and allow him entry. He could feel the adrenaline in his blood as he breathed in the atmosphere of his first real assignment out of the Academy classroom. Gordon limped over to the replicator. “Coffee, Black.” He asked the computer. After a moment, he brought his coffee to the young cadet. After handing over the drink, he walked back to this desk and sat down.

“Congratulations on making it to the academy ship. Tell me about your interest in engineering?” He asked the new cadet, hoping that by getting him talking he might relax.
