Engineering was a buzze crew flew from station to station trying to get the main power relays up, Janna thomas was a senior she had performed with excellence through out her time at the Academy she was lively and always willing to help where she could. She danced around the main relay station trying to trace where the faults were so she could relay to the repair teams where to go. Then she heard it a light hissing sound, should looked to the wall panel. “What is” BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM the panel burst sending the Cadet across the room. and a massive shake through the nearby decks.

Fire spued out of the wall panel looking for its neck vicktem. The auto fire suppression systems were not kicking in!

What a great first impression for Boris. After finishing with medical and speaking to the necessary department heads, emergency struck. The ship wasn’t in a good place, and as a result, he had to act. He was on the way to main engineering to help out where he could, when the sound of an explosion and a subsequent fire lead him to rush into the area. He grabbed the nearest fire extinguisher and barrelled into the danger zone. Despite his speed, his hat barely moved, while one might have expected it to fly off in the panic.

Upon arrival in the danger zone, Boris called out loudly, first in his native tongue, and then in his typical broken English. “Wszyscy, zejdźcie z drogi! To zostanie załatwione, zachowajcie spokój i nie panikujcie! Poinformujcie służby medyczne o sytuacji!” (Translation: Everyone, get out of the way! This will be sorted, stay calm and don’t panic! Inform the emergency services of the situation!) And in English, he spoke: “Out of way! Will handle, not panic! Be calm! Kontact emergency people!”

After he spoke, he wasted no time in trying to get the fire under control, utilizing the fire extinguisher to at least try and control the flames as best he could. This certainly wasn’t the first fire he dealt with in his life, but it was certainly the largest. Even if the situation was terrifying for him, he reached into his well of Polish courage and strength and stayed brave, for he understood that panic and fear would just lead to suffering. Fire suppression wasn’t working? Well, it would be Boris to help take their place!

The fire died out quickly once he was able to get the extinguisher on it, burnt piece of console and wall panel laid everywhere around him, then his eyes cause Cadet Thomas laying against the far wall, large pieces for shrapnel had he pinned to it, she was not conscious

Cursing under her breath as another panel exploded nearby Ruby came rushing over herself to assist Boris in putting the fire out. “..Glad you stuck around Cadet. Wish more of you had the same fortitude and will.” She said putting the manual extinguisher away. Looking over to where Thomas was laying then, she spotted another two scared looking NC cadets in the corner. “..You two! Cadet Will and Lee! Get off your back ends and help Cadet Thomas to sickbay or a triage station!” The two NC cadets blinked at the barked order then moved to comply after a moment.

Lieutenant Embers, her fiery red hair a mess in spots from soot and ash particles turned back to Boris. “..Alright…cadet Boris.” She said taking a moment to compose herself, “..We need to work on stabilizing the power to the internal dampening systems, and structural integrity fields, as well as get least the reaction control systems back to a controllable status to control maneuvering.” She said.

OOC: Tying this in then to the tractor beam from the alien ship and thunking shortly after....

Feeling the ship jerk from its slight uncomfortable drifting and then the thunks outside the hull, Ember frowned. “..Sounds like maybe we got more pressing things.” She added rushing over to a systems panel. “..Looks like we got tractored into something out side the ship, maybe whatever rolled us over, and clamped on in spots here on deck 5!” Turning back to Boris, “..Change of plans, find anyone still moving and lock down all systems in engineering! Could be we might be facing a boarding situation and until we know they’re friendly or not better safe then sorry. I’m going to get the manual bulk heads to engineering sealed manually auto systems are offline for the moment. Once systems are secured report back here, let’s move cadet!” She said as then the Captain’s orders came through to secure systems.

OOC: Since the layout of engineering is not included in the discovery spec going to assume its the semi T/K shape out of TNG…

Ruby ran to the left and right junction entrances to main engineering. At each bulkhead security point she flipped open the manual release panel and began the laborious process of pumping it closed. Once the left side was secured she jogged over to the right one to repeat the process. Since on that side there was a small emergency weapon locker with some Type-2 phasers inside. Unlocking it quickly with her access code she slipped it into the holster and then closed it. She had the basic training like any starfleet officer received on the weapon’s use and if they were to get boarded she figured better safe then sorry if these aliens or whatever turned out to be hostile. With then the final door near the back end of engineering secured she returned to the center control area to await Boris’s tasks to get finished.

”..Any one not currently on task assemble over here once you secure your station!” She said to the cadets and 3 other NE ensigns present.

IC with the bulkheads secured they were ready for whatever came next. It was apparent that if even basic propulsion was to be repair they would have to figure out why power relays were blowing and get enough operational to restore power to those systems.
