Following his placement on the challenger, Boris found himself swamped by various emotions. He’d never been on a starship before, and he found things almost overwhelming. Fear, exhilaration, and determination summed up his state of emotions as he stepped off the transporter. Feeling briefly dizzy, he leaned against a wall, attempting to regain his bearings. He had never been good with transporters, though he hoped he would not experience transports often.

Once the feeling passed, he made his way to sickbay to undergo a mandatory medical examination, using the wall panels to find his way. While he became lost a few times, he did not wish to bother anyone for directions, and so relied on the computer for directions. Upon walking through the doors, he had tapped on his com-badge, adjusting his hat a bit.

“A-ahem. Medical? This is Cadet Levitsky, r-reporting for a checkup.” He spoke, stuttering slightly. He was quite nervous, though he spent some time taking some deep breaths, attempting to calm his wits. His normally bright blue eyes were more of a duller blue, perhaps reflecting his mood, or maybe in response to the synthetic light of the starship. As he waited, he gently rubbed his birthmark, a jagged crescent on his right cheek, under his right eye.

Cadet Boris Levetski, engineer.

A kind looking woman with sandy blonde hair and black eyes approached. She was followed by an all white husky wearing a vest. “Hello Cadet. I’m Lt. Rox. Why don’t you come with me, and we’ll get started. Cadet Neddleberg will be doing your onboarding today.”

Lt. Rox, Chief Medical Officer

He stood at attention and saluted Rox. Perhaps he acted too formal, however he wished to leave a strong first impression. He let out a slow, drawn out breath, his nerves slowly relaxing. He didn’t make eye contact with her, but instead decided to look at the husky following her. “A-affirmative. It is pleasure to meet you, Rox.” He spoke, his voice quiet.

Knowing first day and sickbay visits could cause nerves, Ilena didn’t comment and draw unwanted attention to it. “A pleasure to meet you Cadet.”

While he initially considered giving the pooch a pat on the head, he determined it wouldn’t be a good idea to bother what was presumably a service dog while it was on duty.
“Lovely d-dog, by the way. It h-has quite beautiful coat.” He commented, making eye contact with the doctor for a short time, before his eyes wandered throughout the room. “You… M-must forgive me, it is first day. Things quite… Overwhelming.” He chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

She smiled down at the dog and patted it’s head. “Ril is my constant companion and the reason I can still serve. During the Dominion War I contracted a very nasty illness and had no access to a doctor. It left my muscles weak. So he supports me.”

“Shall we proceed?” He replied simply, shifting weight from one foot, and then the other, and back to the first, as though anxious to begin.

She led him over to the biobed and turned it on. “Have a seat. Can you give me your name Cadet? I can pull your medical files up that way.”

Lt. Rox, Chief Medical Officer

Nodding, he sighed, his eyes briefly lost in thought as she replied, explaining as to why she had the dog with her. A flicker of understanding crossed his face. “I see… I used to know someone who experienced muscular atrophy after bad electric shock put them in hospital. I can’t remember if they fully recovered or not, have not spoken to them for years.” He replied, going silent for some time in respect.

He followed instructions and sat down on the bio bed she turned on. As if fearing that his hat might interfere with the operations, he detached his commbadge from it and attached it to his lapel before placing his hat on an empty side-table. “O-of course. Levitsky, Boris. Origin: Zielona Góra.” He replied simply, clearing his throat. “Ahem… D-don’t worry about that, throat is quite dry. The air is different on ship.”

Rox typed his name into the system and pulled up his medical file. While she did that, a nurse walked over and handed him a glass of water. “Here, drink this. Recycled air takes some getting used to, so be sure to drink plent,” the older woman said kindly.

Rox smiled, “Alright Cadet, anything in your medical history you want to discuss?”

OOC: This is your chance to add any medical details from childhood illnesses to injuries to family medical history. Anything or nothing at all. Whatever you would like.
