Once onboard Chris headed straight for the security office to report for duty

He was young and very happy to be here as was evident by the spring in his step, he knew after this assignment he would be assigned to another ship, where he would spend most if not all his career on.

Chris stopped outside the security office, a last second check of his uniform before he pressed the chime and waited for a response

“Come,” said a voice behind the door. The doors to the office of Challenger Security Chief, Lieutenant Zunara, opened to reveal the middle-aged Bolian sitting at his office scanning the computer console as if pouring over the young cadet’s file, “Mr. Taylor, come in, take a seat, can I get you anything?”

-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-

Chris took the seat offered to him by the COS, he never thought he would see a Bolian as the Chief of Security, he then gave him himself a mental slap, he was only 20 and had no right to have such thoughts.

“Just a water please Sir”

He said as he straightened his back in the chair

Zunara replicated a glass of water for the cadet and a cup of rak’tajino for himself - taking a seat opposite the young man at his main desk, “I must admit Cadet,” he began, “You’re probably one of the youngest cadets on my squad thus far, do you think you have what it takes to serve on the Challenger?”

-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-

It wasn’t the first time he had questions about his age, it wasn’t their fault, most people thought because he was twenty he wasn’t capable of maturity or being under pressure, he however saw it as a challenge to overcome and prove to everyone he had what it takes.

“I do Sir, i was forced to grow up fast after my parents were killed at Wolf 359, both served in Star Fleet”
