||We have sixteen containers from a planet that used to be called Sacramaris,|| Kutan said. ||A joint civilian and Starfleet archaeology team has been working there for ages to see what they can uncover about a civilization that used to call the place home. We were tasked with transporting the bulk of the team’s finds to Memory Alpha for preservation and safe keeping so the researchers can continue to work with the pieces long after the dig is done. What the Breen want with a bunch of artifacts I’ll never know. It does seem unnecessary for what amounts of bits of pottery and books.||

There were still to many open questions, but they at least had a clue. Aaron looked over at Pilar. “Let’s see what we can find out about that planet while we wait for the transport team to check in.”

After giving the team some time to check in on the cargo Aaron opened a comm channel.

Pilar had questions. The mention of Sacramaris piqued her interest. As Kutan finished speaking, Pilar nodded thoughtfully, absorbing the information.

When the Captain suggested they research more about Sacramaris while waiting for the transport team, Pilar agreed. She accessed the ship’s database, searching for any available data on the planet. As they awaited the response from the away team, Pilar had a feeling this was more than just a routine cargo transport mission.

Her query brought up an announcement that a small group of Federation scientists received special permission to do an archaeological dig on the edge of Breen space (D7 on the Star Chart) after stumbling upon clues that led them to believe they might find something amazing there. After checking several planets in the sector, they came across one that matched the description in an artifact and deep planetary scans showed evidence of an ancient civilization. They began the fascinating work of uncovering everything about this civilization.

The team of 30 scientists of different archaeological and anthropological subfields were still there working.

An academic paper in the community referenced Sacramaris in terms of a rumour of an advanced civilization that once existed. It was said that they had technology well above anything anyone around had had at the time, and that their wealth was something they boasted of.

Based on the rumours and initial findings from the planetary scans it was estimated that the civilization existed roughly 1200 years ago.

Aaron anxiously tapped his fingers on the armrest of his chair. The scientist in him itched to be down there in the cargo bay as soon as the crates arrived, so he could take a peak in them. Archeology wasn’t his field of specialty, but the need to answer the question of what had been discovered still gnawed at him.

But on the other hand, something about the whole situation still didn’t sit right with him. How were the attackers finding the Jarot? Not to mention they were still sitting out in the open, shields down, as they waited for the transfer.

“Ops, do a scan of the cargo ship. Look for anything that is transmitting, it could be active or even intermittent. They have to be following the ship somehow, and I doubt it’s from looking at the flight plan.

“And tactical, I’m hoping there is nothing on long range scanners that we need to be aware of.”

what caught Pilar’s attention was a particular academic paper referenced in the database. It spoke of rumors surrounding Sacramaris—a whisper of an advanced civilization that once flourished there, boasting technology far beyond anything known in the region at the time.

There must be something here to help us understandwhat is happening, Pilar thought, her mind racing with possibilities.
She glanced at the Star Chart displayed on the screen, focusing on the coordinates of Sacramaris.
Pilar listened to Captain Foley’s orders, as she processed the information about Sacramaris and the mysterious attackers, she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to this mission than met the eye.
“Captain,” she finally spoke up, turning towards Foley, “I’ve found some intriguing details about Sacramaris. It seems there’s more to this planet than we initially thought. There are some Federation scientists on Sacramaris. Should we consider reaching out to them. Their knowledge and expertise could possibly help us figure out what is happening.”

“Good thinking, why don’t you reach out to them Commander. I’d be curious about what so significant about the civilization that was there, but if nothing else they would be able to authenticate the cargo. I’ll stay and monitor the cargo transfer.”

With a nod, Pilar proceeded to compose a message to the Federation scientists stationed on Sacramaris.
As she waited for a response, she wondered if her inquiry would uncover something significant.
