OOC: Okay, stepping in to fix my own mess. It’s just a single probe, fixing our mix-up on the whole asteroid area. The goal is to get more detailed scans of the anomalies in the region. More data!

Anxiety began to rise in Pilar as the crew awaited the outcomes of the launched probes. She kept her focus sharp, ready to act swiftly upon receiving any new information that could shed light on the situation they were facing. She hoped the Commander and Ensign were okay and could hold on until they could set foot on the asteroid and rescue them. Pilar asked comms, “Is there any hope of contacting Commander Cole and Ensign Metwin?”

Zunara gave a curt nod, ‘I’ll meet you in the Transporter Room, Commander.’

The probe showed the asteroid was moving at about 42km/s and there was nothing else in the vicinity. While the makeup of the asteroid hadn’t changed (metallic iron–nickel core, overlying rocky olivine mantle, with a surface crust), there were calcium–aluminium-rich deposits with some magnesite and pergium inclusions, especially in some of the many deep crevices. The magnesite unfortunately meant that detailed scans near the inclusions were fuzzy at best. There was no immediate sign of the downed shuttle.

Now for the hardest part of any of these rescue missions, the waiting.
