The cadet stepped off the turbolift, and strode into nine forward. He asked the bartender for a bacon cheeseburger and sat down. He sighed, and sat back tired.

James walked in to the room shortly after ,he seen another cadet at the bar. He ordered a synth ale looked over and said, “I’m James how are you doing “? He gave a nod and then proceeded to drink his drink.

George looked up from his food. “Hi James. My names George. I’m doing well, how about you?” He took a bite.

Cadet George Haroon (Science)

“I’m doing good just ran a diagnostic on the sensors , nice to meet you.” He sipped his drink and let spike out of his backpack on his little bed.

Haroon took another bite. “Nice to meet you too.” He noticed Spike. “Who’s your little friend?”

Cadet George Haroon (Science)

“His name is spike, he’s my pet hedgehog. So I haven’t seen you around do you like the ship?”

Cadet James black engineer

“I’ve been working in science. It’s long work, but I’m getting somewhere. And yeah, this ship is the best thing that’s happened to me recently.” He took a bite. “What about you? What do you do?”

“That’s great to hear about you,I find the challenger interesting for you see I am an engineer. I am consequently tested everyday about something, be it the shield harmonics, to the replicators. Overall I like the ship.

Cadet James black engineer

“That sounds like fun!” Haroon said, as he got another bite on his fork. “Glad to hear you like the ship. I believe you came aboard a month or two after me, correct?”

Cadet George Haroon (Science)

“Yeah that’s about right” he got a sausage to eat, and a synth ale. ” Not a castle lager but it works,So have you unpacked all your bags yet?”

Cadet James black engineer

“Argh, no I haven’t even come close. I just started tonight.” Haroon said, getting another bite ready. “Maybe after I’m done eating you can come help?” He suggested, deep in thought.

“That sounds like a plan George, I am glad to help out. “James smiled and was curious ,to see if he had any decorations for his quarters.

He took another bite, finishing the dish. “Well, that was refreshing. Want me to lead you to my quarters?” Asked Haroon with a smile. “And by the way, I’m gonna need help figuring out decorations.”

“ yes but we need to put spike back first ,plus I have something for you to take with us. I hope you like it.” James stood up ,putting spike into the backpack.

“Oh? What’s that?” Haroon asked, standing up and motioning for a waiter to come pick up his dishes.

“It’s beautiful. I take it you paint in your free time?” George said, taking it carefully and looking at it. He smiled at James.

“Yes George for years now,I am glad that you like it . James showed him a padd with some of his artistic work on it.

“These are all brilliant.” He said, taking the PADD and looking through them. “If you weren’t in Starfleet I’d tell you to pursue this full time.” He handed James back the PADD. “Either way, I wish I had a hobby like this. I was never good at doing things like that.”

“Thanks for your kind words, but have you tried writing jokes? They can be quite fun to design and use he chuckled .”

Haroon picked up the painting along with his things. “I actually have not. Thanks for the suggestion.” He pondered for a moment. “Let’s go to my quarters, we can unpack things and spruce it up.”

“Your welcome George sounds like a plan, to do this to help with your things at your quarters.” James put on his backpack.
