Spike was in his bed behaving so far, as cadet black alpha ship just started. James left can cat food, and some sweet potatoes. Three pieces to be exact.

Pilar had placed the little hedgehog, his bed, and his food on her workstation. It had been a long day and she figured Spike must be tired at the moment. Before she went to the shower she gave him a belly rub and said, “You stay here till I get back.” She placed one of the sweet potatoes right beside them before she left.

What Pilar didn’t realize was spike is nocturnal, he sat up chewing on potato but his rest was over. He fumbled out of bed and cleaned his paws, he looked around for James and he leaped down and scurried along the floor and was hidden.

When Pilar exited the bathroom, after her shower, with her bathrobe on, she realized that Spike was not in his bed. The thought of a creature running around her quarters at night gave her the heebie-jeebies. She looked around the room to see if she could immediately spot the little hedgehog. When she didn’t, she regretting not listening to James when he tried to teach her how to summon him. Pilar stood there a few moments in thought, then she began snapping her fingers and calling out to Spike, “Spike…Spikey.. where are you?”

Spike appeared in the corner, on the wall near the ceiling. Then like a Chameleon he disappeared and he scurried away. Now Pilar know why James kept him close, If she looked on the potato she could see it being chewed upon.

“Oookay, Spike. You have superpowers…apparently.” Pilar said out loud. “Something your owner definitely forgot to mention.” Then she mumbled, “Genetically modified is more like it.” Getting ahold of Spike was going to some effort, so Pilar went to her drawer, pulled out a pair of standard issue Academy sweats and sweatshirt, put them on and looked at the potatoe hanging there seeming in mid air and disappearing with each bite. “Now I need to figure out how to outsmart you, Spike, and get you down from there.” Hopefully the hedgehog couldn’t understand what she was saying too.

Spike could be seen as he climbed down ,then onto the can of cat food then uncamouflaged himself . Giving Pilar a sad look, James forgot to tell her as he was use to his antics.

Pilar walked over and scooped up Spike. “I hope you are not going to make me work too hard. You are an interesting little creature.” She said as she rubbed his head. “What is it you do all night? We can’t have you running around my quarters while I am trying to sleep.” She didn’t expect the hedgehog to answer her, she was just merely sharing her thoughts out loud as she tried to figure out how she was going to keep track of Spike and sleep at the same time.

Spike looked back to the cat food and purring in her hands , before camouflage began in her hands. Spike still there began to purr in intervals.
