Cadet black woke, shaved and got dressed. Gave spike some crickets, and made his way to main engineering. James stopped to admire, the warp drive. Then proceeded to the chief’s office, straightened his uniform and hit the chime. He looked around, as he waited for a response.

“Come in” Alex said in response to the chime not looking up from the puzzling results of the warp systems diagnostic that he had just run.
“Yes, what is it?” he said hearing the door open still not looking up from his work.

Hearing the Lt’s voice he walked in and stood at attention. “Cadet James black reporting for duty sir.”
James looked around the office and awaited a response.
