Cadet black walked into the lounge, and took a stool at the bar. Ordered some synth ale, and a slice of lime.
But instead of placing it in his drink, he put it in his pocket. He sipped his drink, as he looked out at the stars.
Being new on board,he didn’t know anyone.

OOC: Welcome aboard Jeremy! We are glad you joined the crew. Now that you are one of us :) you will want to sign all your posts with your character’s name and his department/position. This will make it easier to distinguish your posts from others especially as the thread starts to grow.

IC: Pilar was not sitting far from where the new Cadet had settled at the bar. As a natural observer of beings she watched as he ordered his drink and then curiously slipped the lime into his pocket. There was nothing wrong with this of course, but her curiosity got the best of her and she scooted down a few bar stool until she was sitting next to the Cadet. “Hey. You must be the new engineering Cadet. James Black?” She offered an extended vertical palm to him as she said, “I am Pilaryn Halcyone, Executive Officer…and Counselor until we find a new one. Have you ever worked on a Discovery Class ship before?”

“Please to meet you ma’am.” Shaking her hand. “No I lived on earth, but know my way around a freighter.
And I helped my dad on a galaxy class for a bit.” Cadet black placed his finger in his pocket. Pilaryn could hear low purring. James remembered,and removed his finger. “ so can I get you something?” He finished his drink, looking at the xo. Thinking she seems nice, he got another lime and placed into his pocket with a sleight of hand.

“Well welcome, aboard. I am sure you will have extensive knowledge about Discovery Class ships when you leave here. Lieutenant Sheridan will make sure of it.” She smiled and made a curious frown. “I am sorry, I could not help but notice you slipped a lime slice into your pocket? I am guessing it’s for your friend who I just heard make that adorable purring sound? Care to introduce us to each other?”

“I am use to being around Klingons, they would eat him if they found out.” As he spoke he took a hedgehog, from his pocket and placed the cute ball on the bar. “Meet spike” spike was in his ball, till James did a trick he went”pow” his hand like a gun. Spike unrolled onto his back.with all four legs open wide. James then placed a lime on the bar. Spike scurried over to the lime, fruit was a special treat for him. He purred more his quill’s lay flat.

Pilar eyes widened as she put both hands over her mouth to hold in her delighted gasp. “My goodness, It is the cutest creature I have ever seen! My children would love him! An Earth creature I presume?” She asked as she reached her hand out to pet him, but she hesitated, looked at James then asked, “May I pet him?”

Pilar cupped her hands as she carefully scooped Spike into them. She noticed how his quills laid flat along his back and sides and was very cautious of them. She didn’t want to upset the little creature and potentially end up with some of its quills puncturing her hands. Therefore her posture was still and her arms were stiff as she sat here holding Spike. “I see why you are called Spike” she said to the hedgehog as she studied his cute little face, then she looked at James and presented a big smile, “How long have you had him?”

“Only five earth months “ James touched his belly, spike purred and relaxed more in her hands.
“He is still young, he seems to like you.” Pilar could feel him nestle in and fall asleep. Cadet black motioned her to put him on the bar. “ He sleep in daytime , you can be holding him along time. Ma’am with permission I’d like to replicate a bed for him?”
