The ship fell out of warp and the scans started, traveling along at half impulse would take them a while to get through it all but it would be fast enough. The science NE on the bridge, who had yet to be relieved by a cadet, tapped the controls mindlessly watching the data stream in.

Their final destination, the moon and subsequent ruins, were a ways off. Plenty of time for the away team to assemble, figure out what they were going to do, and take a shuttle down. Or transporters.

“Anyone else oddly excited?” Kyle said aloud to nobody in particular.

Anders’ musing was enough finally for Emmy to swiftly rise to her feet and turn to him. “Lieutenant, you have the bridge,” she informed him. “Commander Holmman and I will be going on the away team. Commander, assemble the away team and meet me in the transporter room.”

“Aye Captain,” Anders replied, doing his best to hide his nerves. He moved to the centre seat and slide into it, more comfortably than he was expecting.
