Carmen made her way down the hall and knocked quietly on the Counselor’s door.

“Come in!” sounded through the door panel, and the doors swished open to a human woman in a standard Starfleet uniform, clad with medical blue on the shoulders and cuffs. Her dark hair was done up in a bun, held in place by a wooden skewer, as she stood off to one side of the room watering a group of white daisies in a red vase.

The woman smiled brightly. “Hello! You must be Carmen. Please, have a seat.” She gestured toward the light blue L-shaped sectional sofa beside the end table the vase sat on. The carpet in the room was a slightly lighter shade of blue, while the wall behind the couch was a darker shade; above the couch hung a painting of a human couple - a man in a tuxedo and a barefoot woman in a red evening gown - dancing on a wet beach, a butler and maid to either side holding umbrellas and clutching their headgear.

“I’m Lieutenant Commander Lofton, the Challenger’s counselor, but in here, please call me Vanessa,” she continued, walking across the room toward a small desk, where she placed the watering can, then approached the replicator behind the desk. “Would you like something to drink?”

I love that you’ve set up your character bio already, and hopefully we’ll have stuff you can add to it from here. I can’t wait to write with you!
