IC: “Greetings, Cadet.” she began, “Welcome aboard Challenger, I am T’Saie, the Department Head within the medical branch.” she said apathetically, maintaining her strong, stoic image. She placed down her PaDD and swiftly yet calmly moved to stand in front of the new cadet before leaning in slightly sizing her up in the most amicable manner possible, “What brings you to the medical branch?” she inquired, ensuring the question was open ended to see how she would respond.

Carmen smiled slightly. “I’m here because I want to help people. My father was a doctor, and I grew up helping him–I was practically raised in a doctor’s office.” Her father hadn’t wanted her to join Starfleet, he had been a private practitioner, but Carmen had too much of her mother in her to live the rest of her life in one place. “I’ve never even considered doing anything else.”
