Starr was trying something new today for his meal. It was something that another cadet recommended, he never had Ulan Soup, and thought he would give the Vulcan dish a try tonight. It was at that point that Woolley came in with an Easel. An old form of recreational activity, one that he respected, but he wasn’t a fine artist. It wasn’t his art form. He had seen this new cadet once or twice around, and during his physical saw him working on somebody else.

Starr was having some food, and went over to the table “This seat taken?” asked a southern-british accent, almost like a British farmer’s accent, but not as extreme. Standing before him was a man just under 6 foot tall.

Seeing the Starfleet medical insignia, he said “It’s good to get to the know the Doctors on a ship, especially in my department, you never know which ones are going to be treating ya in the future, Cadet Starr, Security” he said, extending a hand as an introduction.

Max had just laid the first dabs of purple paint in what was appearing to be a nebula when Simon approached. Max smiled warmly as he gestured to the empty chair, pushing the small easel off to the side a bit as he set down the palette and brush to turn to his new shipmate.

“Pleasure to meet you. I’m Cadet Woolley, but please, call me Max. In my line of work I find it’s good to know as many people as possible before they need our help professionally.” he said, shaking the hand that was extended to him. Max was shorter than Starr and soft spoken.

His handshake, however, was firm and his voice confident. Max was an ambivert. He enjoyed his solitude well enough but he also periodically craved social interaction. That was likely the reason he took his hobby to a public space.

“So how do you like life aboard the Challenger so far?”
