The Hornet-class Assault Boat was designed and approved prior to the establishment of STF’s Standardized Ship Specification Format. When the SSSF was introduced all specs were required to be converted to the new format or retired, and Hornet was not updated.

Mission Brief

The Hornet Class Assault Boat was designed to complete the following tasks:

  • Transportating soldiers to a landing zone in severe combat conditions
  • Use as a first strike vessel during combat situations
  • Disabling ships for boarding missions; Performing capture operations under various scenarios
  • Performing search and rescue operations for de-planed pilots or crews of terminally damaged ships in combat situations
  • Use on a starbase as needed, for missions beyond the capability of a shuttle, yet not requiring a full starship(or when a full starship is not available)
  • Provide fire support for starfighters in a combat zone.

Description

The top deck is the reserved for the bridge and crew quarters. The bottom 2 decks can be openly changed by use of modular units. There are different units for different situations. These units fall into two categories: weapons, and transport. The exterior of the ship looks somewhat like the Defiant Class only slightly smaller.
