Edict #1–
Well, as is all too plainly made clear by recent events, the President of STF is indeed human, and can befall human problems that make discharging of their duties an impossibility. As such, it would not be prudent of me to delay the appointment of a new Vice President, as has been my habit in other jobs.
Now, a bit of reasoning behind my decision. STF is currently having an upcomming election, and I do not intend to run. I feel, furthermore, that it would be improprietous of me to give the Vice Presidency to someone that is… at this stage, it would not be proper of me to grant someone incumbency when the campaign is an issue of relevance, and they had not been elected to it.
Thus, for the duration of the remainder of my term, Larry Garfield shall be Vice President. Larry has been in STF longer than I have, although barely, and he is truly one of the first, and finest, WeBBers to have stuck with us this long. This is not to say that I will always agree with Mr. Garfield, or that he doesn’t sometimes aggravate everyone within his reach. But, I feel that such differences shall not in any way hinder his carrying out the tasks (or lack thereof) that accompany the Vice Presidency.
And, in that vein, I shall also be “passing the buck”, and give Mr. Garfield the duty which I was charges as Vice President, along with his FComm-4 duties. He is to, if nothing else, give a report on the status of the AO draft no later than the first of October. It is my hope that balloting for both the AO and the new elections can occur at the same time.
