A mysterious group cloaked in shadows by black robes in a dimly-lit room, stand around an ancient-looking scroll. ‘There, it is done,’ the leader says. ‘The STF cabinet has once-again been re-shuffled.’
‘But wait,’ complains a second voice. ‘We still have one opening, and its one of the cabinet positions that will need someone to do a lot of hands-on work, and can really only be done by someone with experience.’
‘I know,’ says a third. ‘We should do what we always do in this situation.’
‘So be it,’ intones the leader of the STF Powers-that-Be. ‘Philip Stonness shall be appointed.’
Philip Stonness has essentially been this past term’s wildcard for the STF Government. Need someone with experience to run the Academy? Let’s appoint Phil. We need to find a new Gamemaster Director? Let’s re-shuffle Phil! Have an assistant position that requires experience? How about Phil? Who should run the upcoming election? I know who: Phil.
As a result, it’s been brought to my attention that there are now a number of qualities regarding Phil’s role in STF that are inconsistent:
1) A reliable and dependent member of the STF Government.
2) A club rank of Captain.
3) One of the few members to hold a variety of different cabinet and executive positions.
4) A Gamemaster for an ungodly number of ships.
5) A mentor to new STF members and an advisor to senior STF members.
I agree that these qualities are inconsistent, and that I, as President, need to rectify the situation.
Therefore, Philip Stonness is hereby promoted to Fleet Captain.
